Job Title: MEP Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)
Location: Bengaluru Role Overview The Mechanical Engineer (Owner Review)
will be responsible for reviewing and validating mechanical design packages for store remodel projects, ensuring compliance with owner standards, operational requirements, applicable US codes, and site-specific constraints.
The role focuses on HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing design reviews, ensuring constructability, system integration, energy efficiency, and high-quality design deliverables while coordinating with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design Review
- Review HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing design packages for remodel projects.
- Validate mechanical designs for compliance with owner standards, operational requirements, and applicable local codes.
- Ensure design accuracy, constructability, maintainability, and energy efficiency.
- Review renovation constraints and verify integration with existing building systems.
HVAC, Refrigeration &
- Plumbing Review
- Review HVAC load calculations, airflow distribution, ventilation, and thermal comfort requirements.
- Validate refrigeration equipment sizing, piping layouts, and overall system performance.
- Review plumbing systems, including domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, and equipment connections.
- Identify design conflicts and recommend practical solutions during the review process.
Design Quality &
- Compliance
- Verify compliance with applicable US building codes and industry standards, including ASHRAE, IPC, and relevant mechanical codes.
- Ensure all mechanical designs align with owner design standards and project requirements.
- Perform quality checks to minimize design errors and reduce rework.
- Identify risks and provide timely feedback to improve design quality.
Tools &
- Technical Execution
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Utilize Bluebeam for drawing reviews, markups, and coordination.
- Interpret Revit models and AutoCAD drawings as required.
- Manage design review documentation through Aconex and other project management platforms.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with Architecture, Electrical, Structural, Refrigeration, and vendor teams to resolve design issues.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure seamless mechanical system integration.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide technical recommendations.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost, constructability, and energy performance.
Qualifications &
- Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of experience in MEP design, mechanical engineering, maintenance, or owner design review.
- Experience in retail, commercial, or remodel projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems.
