Role Description The Revenue Cycle Management Medical Coder role is a full time, on-site position based in Kozhikode. In this role, the medical coder reviews and interprets clinical documentation to assign accurate ICD, CPT, and other relevant codes for procedures and diagnoses.

The position involves validating coding for compliance with regulatory and payer guidelines, ensuring correct charge capture, and supporting timely and accurate billing. The medical coder collaborates with clinicians, billing teams, and other revenue cycle staff to clarify documentation, resolve coding-related queries, and reduce claim denials. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, payer rules,



and organizational policies, while contributing to continuous improvement in revenue cycle efficiency.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems and guidelines (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and experience applying them in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Solid understanding of revenue cycle processes, including charge capture, claims submission, denial management, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret and analyze clinical documentation, medical terminology, and diagnosis/procedure details to ensure accurate and compliant coding.
- Attention to detail and proficiency with coding and billing software, electronic health records (EHR), and related healthcare information systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with physicians, nurses, and revenue cycle teams, and to address documentation or coding queries.
- Relevant certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding qualification; formal education in health information management or a related field is preferred.
- Commitment to ethical coding practices, continuous learning, and staying current with regulatory changes, payer requirements, and industry standards.
- Previous experience in medical coding within a hospital, clinic, or similar healthcare environment is highly beneficial.
