Basix Municipal Waste Ventures Ltd. is looking for 2 Mechanical Executives to manage the day-to-day minor maintenance and mechanical requirements of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) deployed for municipal waste collection operations.
The selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring that LCVs remain in valuable working condition, minimizing vehicle downtime, and coordinating timely repairs and maintenance at designated Wealth Centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the daily mechanical condition of LCVs deployed at Wealth Centres.
- Carry out and supervise minor repairs and routine maintenance of LCVs.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues.
- Check basic components such as brakes, clutch, engine oil, coolant, battery, tyres, lights, belts and other essential parts.
- Attend to minor breakdowns and coordinate immediate corrective action.
- Maintain daily records of vehicle maintenance, repairs and spare parts used.
- Coordinate with drivers, Vehicle Coordinators and workshops regarding vehicle-related issues.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing.
- Identify recurring mechanical problems and report them to the concerned senior/management.
- Ensure minimum vehicle downtime and maximum vehicle availability for daily waste collection operations.
- Verify the quality of repair work carried out by external mechanics/workshops.
- Support the Operations Team during vehicle breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements.
- Prepare daily/weekly maintenance reports as required by management.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during vehicle inspection and maintenance activities.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may apply; experience in LCV/fleet maintenance will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of automobile mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in the field and visit multiple Wealth Centres as required.
- Valid driving licence and practical knowledge of LCVs will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in LCV/Fleet Maintenance, Automobile Workshop, Transportation or Municipal Waste Management operations will be preferred.
- Candidates familiar with vehicles such as Ashok Leyland Dost, Tata Intra V10/30 or similar LCVs will have an added advantage.
