Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible, organized, and technically competent Lab Assistant to support the smooth functioning of our college laboratories. The candidate will assist faculty and students during practical sessions, maintain laboratory equipment and materials, ensure safety standards, and maintain proper records and inventory.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare the laboratory, equipment, instruments, and required materials before practical sessions.
- Assist faculty members in conducting practical classes, demonstrations, and experiments.
- Provide basic technical assistance to students during laboratory sessions.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and discipline.
- Maintain records of laboratory equipment, stock, consumables, and usage.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and inform the concerned department about required materials and replacements.
- Identify damaged or malfunctioning equipment and coordinate for repair or maintenance.
- Assist faculty during practical examinations, internal assessments, and other academic activities.
- Ensure that all equipment is switched off and properly stored after laboratory sessions.
- Follow institutional laboratory safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain proper documentation related to laboratory activities and equipment.
- Support the department in arranging and organizing laboratory resources.




- Assist with procurement requirements by preparing or communicating stock requirements.
- Ensure students follow laboratory rules and safety procedures.
- Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the HOD or management.

Candidate Profile

- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in the relevant field preferred.
- Candidates with prior experience as a Lab Assistant in a school, PU college, college, or educational institution will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, instruments, and safety procedures.
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty members and students.
- Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle laboratory materials and equipment carefully.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the requirements of the institution.

Education Minimum Qualification: Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
