Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer / Backend Tech Lead with 5 years of hands-on experience to architect, build, and scale our core server-side applications. In this role, you will take ownership of the backend architecture for a high-traffic, large-scale Web platform, drive design decisions, integrate crucial third-party financial and communication services, and mentor a talented team of backend engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

- Architect & Scale: Design and build robust, high-throughput backend systems and RESTful microservices tailored for large-scale web applications.
- Tech Leadership: Lead and mentor the backend engineering team through code reviews, technical guidance, and architecture discussions.
- System Design: Establish best practices for application architecture, design patterns, security, database modeling, and caching strategies to ensure high availability and low latency.

Core Integrations & Features

- Payment Gateways: Implement and manage secure payment gateway integrations (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay, PayPal) handling transactions, webhooks, and reconciliation processes.
- Messaging & Communication: Integrate messaging protocols and third-party APIs (e.g., Twilio, WhatsApp Business API, SMS gateways) for automated transactional and marketing communication flows.
- API Infrastructure: Define clean API contracts, manage third-party service dependencies, and ensure resilient error handling and retry mechanisms.

Operations & Delivery

- Collaborate with Frontend Leads, Product Managers,



and DevOps to streamline delivery pipelines and continuous integration.
- Drive end-to-end testing, performance profiling, and system monitoring to proactively address bottlenecks.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications

- Experience:5 years of professional software development experience primarily using Java (Java 11/17 preferred).
- Frameworks: Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Hibernate / JPA.
- Architecture: Proven track record in designing web application architectures, system modeling, distributed systems, and REST API design.
- Domain Integrations:

◦ Hands-on experience integrating payment gateways (tokenization, webhooks, security compliance/PCI-DSS awareness).

◦ Direct experience with SMS gateways and WhatsApp Business APIs (Twilio, Meta Graph API, or similar providers).

- Databases: Strong proficiency with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL stores (e.g., Redis, MongoDB) for high-performance caching and data storage.
- DevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring tools (Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus).

Nice to Have

- Experience leading or managing small technical teams (3–6 engineers).
- Understanding of message brokers like Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS for asynchronous event-driven architecture.
- Background in web-scale security practices, rate limiting, and DDoS mitigation strategies.

Pay: ₹351,624.61 - ₹1,500,189.46 per year
