Job Summary The Kinematic Engineer is responsible for design, development, validation, and optimization of kinematic systems for automotive plastic interior components, ensuring functional performance, robustness, manufacturability, and compliance with OEM standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop kinematic mechanisms for interior components such as glove box, center console lids, armrests, cup holders, and storage systems, Air vents and HVAC
Perform motion studies, clearance checks, interference analysis using CATIA V5 DMU Kinematics.
Create 3D CAD models and assemblies; manage DOF, motion paths, end stops.
Apply plastic design best practices: ribs, bosses, snap-fits,
draft, wall thickness.
Support DFMEA, validation testing, durability load conditions.
• Coordinate with CAE -CFD, tooling, manufacturing, suppliers, and OEM customers.
Required Skills
Robust expertise in CATIA V5 and kinematic analysis.
Experience in automotive interior plastic product development.
Knowledge of OEM standards, GD&T;, DFM/DFA.
• Solid analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with damped or soft-close mechanisms.
Exposure to PLM tools (ENOVIA / Teamcenter).
• OEM or Tier-1 automotive experience.
