About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and motivated intern to support the demand forecasting and inventory planning function for our growing CPG portfolio.



This role will provide hands-on exposure to demand planning, inventory tracking, and cross-functional coordination across sales, supply chain, and sourcing teams. The intern will work closely with senior team members to ensure product availability while learning how data-driven planning supports business growth.

Key Responsibilities

This role supports demand planning and inventory management across Purplle’s private label portfolio

(10+ brands, including Faces Canada, Carmesi, Juicy Chemistry, Alps Goodness, NY Bae, DermDoc,

Good Vibes, and Color Chemistry) across all CPG Channels.

1. Demand Planning & Forecasting

- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly demand forecasts at SKU / channel-type (GT /MT / OR /

MP / D2C / etc) level using historical data and sales inputs.
- Support forecast accuracy tracking (MAPE, bias) and help identify gaps or variances.
- Collate inputs from sales and marketing teams for promotions, seasonality, and new launches.
- Maintain forecast trackers and ensure data hygiene.

1. Inventory Planning & Allocation

- Support inventory tracking against defined norms across warehouses and channels.
- Assist in monitoring stock availability, stock-outs, excess inventory, and ageing.
- Help track inbound supply vs. demand and flag risks to the planning team.




- Coordinate with supply and sourcing teams for basic data updates and follow-ups.

1. Analytics & Reporting

- Support preparation for weekly and monthly demand planning reviews.
- Assist in creating simple dashboards using Excel / BI tools.
- Document action items, risks, and follow-ups from review meetings.
- Ensure timely sharing of reports and updates with relevant stakeholders.

1. Process Improvement & Recent Capabilities

- Help identify data gaps, process inefficiencies, or manual workarounds in planning workflows.
- Support automation and system improvement initiatives led by senior team members.
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis and special projects related to demand and inventory planning.

1. Master Data Management

- Support new SKU creation and item master updates (MRP, grammage, vendor changes) in line

with defined naming conventions.
- Assist in tracking NPD (New Product Development) items from approval through to conversion.
- Help maintain MPC EAN SKU hierarchy accuracy and flag mapping discrepancies.

Key Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX; strong

working knowledge of Power BI.
- Hands-on experience with SQL (preferably BigQuery); exposure to Python is an added

advantage.
- Strong understanding of demand forecasting models, along with supply chain and inventory

management fundamentals.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-growth environments and navigate ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail and data hygiene discipline.
