Industrial Designer / Product Designer Needed for Fully Automatic Pani Puri Vending Machine

About the Project

We are PEKHANSA Pvt. Ltd. , an innovation-driven company based in Guwahati, Assam, India. We have developed a Fully Automatic Pani Puri Vending Machine designed to automate the preparation and dispensing of one of India's most popular street foods.

The product is not just at the concept stage. Approximately 90% of the product development work has already been completed, and the machine has been extensively tested in real commercial environments.

Our machine has undergone more than 1.5 years of commercial trials in busy, high-footfall locations, helping us validate the concept, customer experience, operational workflow, and overall market potential.

We are now looking for an experienced and highly capable Industrial Designer / Product Designer who can take the existing product to the next level and help transform it into a mass-production-ready commercial product.

What We Need

We need someone who can take ownership of the industrial design and product development process and work as a technical and design lead for the next stage of our product.

The selected designer will work with our existing prototype, mechanisms, and engineering team to improve the overall product and prepare it for scalable manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Study and understand the existing Fully Automatic Pani Puri Vending Machine.

Review the current mechanical design, assemblies, components, and working mechanisms.

Improve the overall industrial design, aesthetics, ergonomics, and user experience.

Redesign components wherever necessary to improve:

Manufacturability

Reliability

Ease of assembly

Ease of servicing and maintenance

Product durability

Cost efficiency

- Hygiene and food safety

Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.

Optimize the machine for mass production and scalable manufacturing.





Reduce unnecessary complexity, weight, component count, and manufacturing cost wherever possible.

Develop professional 3D CAD models and assemblies, preferably using SolidWorks.

Prepare manufacturing-ready documentation, including drawings, BOMs, tolerances, materials, and specifications.

Coordinate with our engineering team and potential manufacturing partners.

Help identify suitable manufacturing processes and vendors for different components.

Support prototype improvements, validation, and the transition from the current working prototype to a production-ready version.

While PEKHANSA Pvt. Ltd. is based in

Guwahati, Assam, manufacturing may be carried out in other major manufacturing hubs in India depending on vendor capability and commercial feasibility.

Potential manufacturing locations may include:

Pune

Bengaluru

Coimbatore

Ahmedabad

Rajkot

Other suitable manufacturing clusters in India

Therefore, experience in working with manufacturers, vendors, fabrication units, sheet metal manufacturers, CNC machining, injection moulding, plastics, stainless steel, food-grade materials, and production processes would be highly valuable.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has strong experience in Industrial Design and Product Development.

Has experience taking a physical product from prototype to mass production.

Is highly proficient in SolidWorks or similar professional CAD software.

Understands mechanical design and manufacturing processes.

Has strong knowledge of DFM, DFA, GD&T;,



materials, tolerances, and production processes.

Can independently lead the design development process.

Has experience working with manufacturing vendors and production teams.

Can think beyond aesthetics and focus on functionality, manufacturability, cost, reliability, and scalability.

Experience with food equipment, vending machines, automation systems, consumer appliances, or electromechanical products will be a major advantage.

Project Scope

This is initially a contract/project-based engagement, with the possibility of working closely with our team throughout the product development and manufacturing stage.

If the collaboration goes well and there is a strong fit, there is a potential opportunity for the right candidate to join PEKHANSA Pvt. Ltd. as a permanent team member and take a long-term leadership role in our future product development initiatives.

Important

This is not a concept-only project.

We already have a commercially tested working machine and are looking for an experienced skilled who can take the existing product and help us build a world-class, manufacturable, reliable, and scalable product ready for mass production.
