Reports To: Dealer Principal / General Manager / Management

Location: Dealership / Multiple Dealership Locations

1. Job Purpose

The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the complete employee lifecycle within the automobile dealership, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, training, discipline, and HR operations.
1. Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Manpower Planning

- Plan manpower requirements in coordination with department heads.
- Recruit Sales Consultants, Service Advisors, Technicians, Team Leaders, CRM executives, support staff and management positions.
- Manage job portals, recruitment agencies, employee referrals and campus hiring.
- Conduct interviews, background verification and reference checks.
- Ensure timely joining against approved manpower requirements.

Employee Onboarding & HR Operations

- Manage joining formalities, documentation and induction.
- Maintain employee records, HRIS/DMS records and personnel files.
- Issue appointment letters, confirmation letters, transfer letters and other HR documents.
- Monitor attendance, leave, shift schedules and employee movements.
- Coordinate payroll inputs with the accounts/payroll team.

Performance Management

- Establish and monitor KPIs and KRAs for dealership employees.
- Coordinate monthly/quarterly performance reviews.
- Track probation, confirmation and performance improvement plans.
- Support management in promotions, transfers, increments and incentives.

Training & Development

- Identify training requirements across Sales, Service, Parts and Administration.
- Coordinate product, sales, customer-service,



technical and behavioural training.
- Maintain training calendars and attendance records.
- Support manufacturer/OEM training and certification requirements.

Employee Engagement & Retention

- Conduct employee engagement initiatives and feedback sessions.
- Identify attrition risks and recommend retention measures.
- Handle employee grievances and workplace conflicts professionally.
- Promote a positive, disciplined and customer-focused workplace culture.

Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and employment regulations.
- Coordinate PF, ESIC, professional tax, gratuity, bonus and other statutory requirements, as applicable.
- Maintain statutory registers, records and documentation.
- Coordinate with external consultants and authorities when required.

Discipline & Employee Relations

- Implement dealership HR policies and code of conduct.
- Handle disciplinary matters, misconduct cases and investigations.
- Prepare warning letters, show-cause notices and other HR documentation when required.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies.

1. Automobile Dealership-Specific Responsibilities

- Understand manpower requirements across Sales, Service, Parts, Bodyshop, CRM, Insurance, Finance & Administration.
- Monitor sales and service team productivity and employee turnover.
- Coordinate manpower for new model launches, campaigns and dealership events.
- Support OEM/dealer audits relating to HR and training compliance.




- Track employee certifications and mandatory OEM training.
- Work closely with department heads to improve employee productivity and customer satisfaction.

1. Qualification & Experience

- MBA/PGDM in HR, MSW, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 5–10 years of HR experience, preferably in automobile dealerships, retail, automotive, or similar customer-facing businesses.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination and labour compliance.
- Experience managing blue-collar, sales and technical employees is an advantage.
- Good communication, leadership, problem-solving and negotiation skills.

1. Ideal Candidate Profile

An experienced HR qualified who can independently manage end-to-end HR operations for an automobile dealership, while balancing recruitment, employee productivity, compliance, retention and business requirements. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven dealership environment. Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
