Role Purpose The Head – HR will lead the complete Human Resources function for Conservve Buildcon, supporting the organisation's growth across Head Office and multiple project sites in India. The role will be responsible for HR strategy, talent acquisition, manpower planning, employee relations, performance management, HR policies, payroll, compliance, HR systems and organisation development.

The candidate should have strong experience in EPC / construction / infrastructure organisations with a large site workforce and be capable of building a professional, process-driven HR function.

Key Responsibilities

1. HR Strategy & Organisation Development

- Develop and implement the HR strategy aligned with Conservve's business and project growth plans.
- Establish scalable HR policies, processes and SOPs across HO and project sites.
- Develop organisation structures, manpower budgets and workforce plans.
- Support the leadership team on organisational effectiveness and people-related decisions.
- Build a strong HR culture focused on accountability, ownership and performance.

2. Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning

- Lead recruitment for HO and project requirements across India.
- Develop annual and project-wise manpower plans.
- Ensure timely deployment of critical project positions.
- Build strong recruitment channels for Project Managers, Construction Managers, QS, Contracts, Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, Safety, MEP and Site HR.
- Develop talent pipelines for future project requirements.
- Strengthen employer branding and employee referral programmes.

3. Site HR Management

- Establish effective HR systems across all project sites.
- Lead and mentor the Site HR teams.
- Ensure proper coordination between HO HR and Site HR.
- Monitor manpower deployment, attendance, productivity, attrition and employee grievances.
- Ensure timely resolution of site employee-related issues.
- Conduct regular HR audits and site visits.

4. Payroll, Attendance & HR Operations

- Oversee monthly payroll processing for HO and project employees.
- Ensure accurate attendance, leave, LOP, overtime and compensatory-off management.
- Establish solid payroll controls and reconciliation processes.
- Manage employee master data and HR documentation.
- Ensure timely issuance of employment-related letters and documentation.

5. Statutory Compliance





- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Oversee PF, ESIC, PT, BOCW, CLRA, gratuity, labour licence, minimum wages and other applicable compliances.
- Ensure project-wise statutory compliance and documentation.
- Coordinate with legal consultants, government authorities and external agencies when required.
- Conduct regular compliance audits across sites.

6. Performance Management

- Design and implement an effective KRA/KPI and performance appraisal system.
- Drive goal-setting and performance reviews across HO and sites.
- Establish measurable KRAs for senior management and project teams.
- Identify high performers and succession candidates.
- Develop performance improvement mechanisms for underperforming employees.

7. Employee Relations & Engagement

- Manage employee grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Establish structured grievance-resolution mechanisms.
- Handle employee disciplinary proceedings in coordination with management/legal advisors.
- Develop employee engagement initiatives across HO and project sites.
- Drive employee communication and organisational culture initiatives.
- Support retention of critical talent.

8. Compensation & Benefits

- Develop salary structures and compensation benchmarks.
- Review CTC structures for different grades and functions.
- Lead annual increment and promotion processes.
- Conduct market benchmarking for critical positions.
- Develop retention strategies for key employees.

9. HR Technology & Digitalisation

- Drive effective utilisation of HRMS, payroll and attendance systems.
- Improve HR data accuracy and reporting.
- Develop HR dashboards and MIS for management.
- Digitise HR processes and employee records.
- Ensure integration of HR systems with payroll and other business systems wherever required.

10. Learning & Development

- Identify organisation-wide and project-specific training needs.
- Establish annual training calendars.
- Develop leadership and functional development programmes.
- Drive induction and onboarding programmes.
- Strengthen technical and behavioural competency development.

11. Succession Planning & Talent Management

- Identify critical positions and succession risks.




- Develop succession plans for key HO and project positions.
- Create career progression frameworks.
- Build leadership capability within the organisation.
- Develop talent retention strategies for high-potential employees.

12. HR MIS & Management Reporting Prepare and present regular HR dashboards covering:

- Total manpower – HO & Sites
- Recruitment status
- Attrition
- Manpower cost
- Payroll
- Attendance & absenteeism
- Open positions
- Employee turnover
- Training
- Performance management
- Employee grievances
- Statutory compliance
- HR cost vs. budget

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Strong experience in EPC / construction / infrastructure / real estate / industrial projects.
- Must have handled both Head Office and large project/site workforce.
- Strong exposure to blue-collar, staff and managerial manpower.
- Proven experience in HR strategy, recruitment, payroll, compliance, employee relations and performance management.
- Strong understanding of labour laws applicable to construction and EPC companies.
- Experience in implementing HRMS and HR process digitalisation.
- Strong stakeholder-management and leadership skills.
- Ability to work closely with the MD, COO, Project Directors and Functional Heads.

Critical Requirement The candidate should be a business-oriented HR leader, not only an HR operations professional. The person must be capable of building a strong HR function for a growing EPC organisation, while remaining hands-on with manpower planning, recruitment, site HR, compliance, employee relations, performance management and HR systems.
