Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable General Manager – Roads & Infrastructure Projects to lead and manage government and private road & infrastructure projects. The candidate will be responsible for project planning, execution, government coordination, tendering, contractor management, commercial performance, and timely completion of projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in government infrastructure projects, road construction, tenders, EPC projects, PWD/NHAI/Municipal Corporation-related work, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Management

- Overall responsibility for planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of road and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure projects are completed within approved time, cost, quality, and safety parameters.
- Review project progress and take corrective action wherever required.
- Monitor multiple projects simultaneously and ensure proper resource allocation.

1. Government Projects & Coordination

- Manage relationships and coordination with government departments and authorities.
- Coordinate with PWD, NHAI, Municipal Corporations, Government Departments, Consultants, and other statutory authorities, as applicable.
- Handle project-related meetings, approvals, permissions, inspections, and documentation.
- Maintain professional relationships with government officials and project stakeholders.

1. Tendering & Business Development

- Identify and evaluate government infrastructure project opportunities.
- Monitor government tenders, RFPs, EOI, EPC and infrastructure contracts.
- Lead the tendering process,



including technical and commercial evaluation.
- Coordinate preparation and submission of bids and tender documents.
- Develop strategies to increase the company's government infrastructure business.

1. Contractor & Vendor Management

- Manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
- Evaluate contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors for cost-effective project execution.
- Resolve operational and commercial issues with contractors.

1. Commercial & Financial Management

- Monitor project budgets, costs, billing, collections, and profitability.
- Ensure timely submission and certification of RA bills and final bills.
- Monitor variations, extra items, claims, and contractual matters.
- Control project costs and identify opportunities for improving profitability.

1. Team Leadership

- Lead project managers, civil engineers, site teams, commercial teams, and support staff.
- Set clear responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Conduct regular project review meetings.
- Build a strong and accountable project management team.

1. Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable construction standards, specifications, contractual requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor quality of construction work and ensure corrective action where required.
- Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards at project sites.
- Maintain proper project documentation and records.

Project Reporting

- Review daily, weekly, and monthly project progress reports.
- Present project status, financial performance, risks, delays, and action plans to senior management.
- Maintain project dashboards and MIS for management review.

Required Skills
- Robust knowledge of Road & Infrastructure Projects.
- Excellent understanding of government contracting and tender processes.
- Strong knowledge of project execution and contract management.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Good commercial and financial understanding.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, project management software, and relevant construction/DPR systems.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering preferred.
- M.Tech / MBA / PG Diploma in Construction or Project Management will be an advantage.

Experience
- 12–20 years of relevant experience in road, highway, civil, or infrastructure projects.
- Solid experience in government projects and tender-based contracts is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in EPC, HAM, BOT, PWD, NHAI, Municipal Corporation, or similar infrastructure projects will be preferred.
- Experience managing large teams and multiple projects is essential.
