Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Vehicle Lighting & Electrical Systems to support the design, development, integration, and validation of vehicle lighting, signalling, switching, horn, flasher, and wiper systems for recent Automotive and Electric Vehicle (EV) programs .
The role will involve working from concept development through production readiness , coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable automotive standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of vehicle lighting and signalling systems for new vehicle platforms.
- Develop and integrate headlamps, tail lamps, position lamps, turn indicators, hazard lamps, and other vehicle lighting systems.
- Coordinate with suppliers for lamp design, component development, validation, prototype builds, and technical issue resolution.
- Support the development and integration of vehicle switches, horn systems, flasher units, and wiper systems.
- Work closely with wiring harness, electrical architecture, vehicle integration, and testing teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Support vehicle prototype builds, commissioning, electrical debugging, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Analyze electrical and functional issues during development and support root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support component and system-level testing, validation, and reliability activities.
- Review technical specifications and ensure lighting and signalling systems meet vehicle-level performance and functional requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable automotive regulatory and homologation requirements for lighting and signalling systems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including NPD, sourcing, suppliers, testing, and vehicle integration teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of automotive lighting and signalling systems.
- Knowledge of headlamps, tail lamps, position lamps, turn indicators, and hazard lighting systems.
- Understanding of switches, horn systems, flasher units, and wiper systems.
- Knowledge of lighting system manufacturing and component development processes.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical architecture and wiring harness integration.
- Knowledge of CAN communication and ECU interfaces.
- Experience in component validation, testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
- Understanding of automotive lighting and signalling regulatory/homologation standards.
- Ability to coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
Must-Have Skills
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in automotive/EV electrical systems or vehicle component development.
- Hands-on experience with automotive lighting and signalling systems.
- Experience with vehicle electrical integration and wiring harness interfaces.
- Knowledge of switches, horn, flasher, and wiper systems.
- Experience in component/system validation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of CAN and ECU interfaces.
- Understanding of automotive lighting regulations and homologation requirements.
- Experience working with suppliers and NPD teams.
