Job Title: Fabric Quality Inspector

Department: Fabric Inspection

Reporting To: Quality Manager / Fabric Manager

Job Purpose To inspect incoming and processed fabrics and ensure that fabric quality meets approved standards, specifications, buyer requirements, and production needs before release to production.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect fabric rolls for quality, defects, shade, width, GSM, and overall appearance.
- Conduct fabric inspection using the 4-Point System or company-approved inspection method.
- Identify and record fabric defects such as:
- Holes and cuts
- Stains and oil marks
- Slubs and yarn defects
- Shade variation
- Crease marks
- Uneven dyeing
- Printing defects
- Weaving/knitting defects
- Check fabric width, GSM, construction, shrinkage, and other required parameters.
- Verify fabric shade against approved lab dips, standards, or bulk approval.
- Inspect fabric rolls received from suppliers, dyeing/processing units, or internal production.
- Prepare and maintain fabric inspection reports and defect records.
- Mark defects and communicate them to the concerned departments.
- Segregate accepted, rejected, and hold fabric rolls.
- Coordinate with Fabric Follow-Up, Stores, Production, Purchase, and QA teams regarding quality issues.
- Ensure rejected or defective fabric is properly identified and controlled.




- Follow up on fabric replacement, reprocessing, or corrective action.
- Maintain inspection records for traceability.
- Ensure compliance with buyer/company quality standards.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for recurring defects.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in the inspection area.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in fabric inspection/quality control.
- Good knowledge of woven/knitted fabrics and common fabric defects.
- Knowledge of 4-Point Fabric Inspection System.
- Ability to identify shade and construction variations.
- Basic knowledge of GSM, width, shrinkage, color fastness, and fabric testing.
- Good reporting and communication skills.
- Basic MS Excel/ERP knowledge preferred.
