Job Summary
Our client is looking for an Executive – DP & Settlement Operations to manage day-to-day Depository Participant (DP), demat and securities settlement activities.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in DP Operations, CDSL/NSDL, demat processes, settlements, reconciliation and client servicing, preferably within a stock broking, securities or capital markets organisation.
This is an execution-focused role requiring strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work within operational deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. DP / Depository Operations
- Handle day-to-day DP and depository operations.
- Process demat account opening, modification and closure.
- Handle dematerialisation and rematerialisation requests.
- Process DIS, transfer and transmission requests.
- Handle off-market and intra-depository transfers.
- Process pledge, re-pledge and unpledge transactions.
- Coordinate with CDSL/NSDL for DP-related operational requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and accuracy of DP transactions.
2. Settlement Operations
- Support daily securities settlement activities.
- Monitor settlement-related transactions and timelines.
- Coordinate with Operations, RMS, Accounts and Depository teams.
- Track pending settlement transactions and operational exceptions.
- Support timely completion of pay-in and payout activities.
- Identify and resolve settlement-related discrepancies.
3. Reconciliation
- Perform regular reconciliation of DP and settlement transactions.
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.
- Maintain accurate transaction and operational records.
- Follow up on pending transactions and exceptions.
4. Client Servicing
- Handle client queries related to demat and DP operations.
- Coordinate for documentation and transaction-related requirements.
- Resolve operational issues within defined timelines.
- Maintain accurate client records.
5. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily/periodic DP and settlement reports.
- Maintain reconciliation and transaction reports.
- Track pending transactions and exceptions.
- Support management reporting and operational MIS.
6. Compliance & Audit Support
- Follow applicable CDSL/NSDL and internal operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with KYC and documentation requirements.
- Maintain records required for audit and compliance purposes.
- Support internal and depository audits/inspections.
Required Skills
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in DP / Depository / Settlement Operations
- Experience in Stock Broking / Capital Markets / Securities
- Hands-on experience with CDSL and/or NSDL
- Good knowledge of Demat Operations
- Experience with DIS, transfers and transmission
- Knowledge of pledge / re-pledge / unpledge
- Understanding of securities settlement
- Experience in reconciliation
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and MIS reporting
- Strong documentation and client coordination skills
Candidates with hands-on DP/CDSL/NSDL experience will be given preference over candidates with only generic back-office or banking operations experience.
Educational Qualification
Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
NISM Series VI – Depository Operations or other relevant certification will be an added advantage.
