Position: EHS Executive

Department: Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Experience: 25 Years

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reporting To: EHS Manager / Plant Head

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and responsible EHS Executive to support and strengthen Environment, Health & Safety practices at our manufacturing/plant facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in plant safety, process safety, hazard identification, risk assessment, safety compliance, incident investigation, and EHS management systems.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements, implementing safe work practices, conducting inspections and audits, and promoting a strong safety culture across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Safety

- Implement and monitor plant safety procedures, standards, and safe work practices.
- Conduct regular plant safety inspections, safety audits, and workplace observations.
- Identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with PPE, work permits, LOTO, working at height, confined space, hot work, and other critical safety procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety awareness programs, and employee safety training.
- Support implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures.

Process Safety
- Support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities within the plant.
- Conduct and participate in Hazard Identification (HAZID), HAZOP, JSA/JHA, Risk Assessments, and other safety studies.
- Identify process hazards and recommend appropriate preventive and mitigation measures.
- Monitor safety-critical equipment, interlocks, alarms, emergency systems, and process safety controls.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and ensure safety considerations are addressed before implementation.




- Assist in maintaining process safety documentation and action-tracking systems.

EHS Management
- Support implementation and maintenance of the plant's EHS Management System.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain EHS records, registers, inspection reports, permits, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in internal and external EHS audits and ensure closure of audit observations.
- Track EHS KPIs, safety performance indicators, near misses, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.

Incident Investigation & Emergency Response
- Participate in investigation of incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.
- Assist in identifying root causes and developing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support emergency drills such as fire, chemical spill, evacuation, and other plant emergency scenarios.
- Coordinate with relevant departments during emergency situations and drills.

Training & Safety Culture
- Conduct safety induction programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize periodic EHS training and awareness sessions.
- Develop and communicate safety campaigns and initiatives.
- Encourage employees and contractors to report unsafe conditions, near misses, and safety concerns.
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the plant.

Required Skills
- Robust knowledge of Plant Safety and Industrial Safety.
- Good understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM).




- Knowledge of HAZOP, HIRA, JSA/JHA, Risk Assessment, MOC, LOTO, PTW, and incident investigation.
- Knowledge of fire and emergency safety systems.
- Understanding of EHS statutory compliance and safety regulations.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and other plant functions.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional certification in Industrial Safety / EHS / NEBOSH / IOSH will be an advantage.

Experience

- 25 years of relevant experience in EHS/Plant Safety, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, engineering, or process industry environment.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in plant safety, process safety, EHS audits, risk assessment, and statutory compliance will be preferred.

- Timely closure of safety audit observations and CAPA.
- Compliance with EHS statutory and internal requirements.
- Completion of safety inspections, audits, and training programs.
- Near-miss reporting and corrective-action effectiveness.
- Emergency preparedness and successful completion of emergency drills.
- Improvement in overall plant safety culture and EHS performance.
