Engineering Technician - Roles and responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Network support

- Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Support desktops, laptops, workstations, servers, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Perform software installations, patch management, antivirus updates, system upgrades, and security compliance activities.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, application, and network-related issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and system configurations in accordance with company policies.
- Support engineering applications, software licensing, automation tools, and laboratory computing systems.
- Maintain system availability through backup management, recovery procedures, monitoring, and preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and network connectivity issues.
- Install, upgrade, and replace hardware components including memory, storage devices, motherboards, and network adapters.
- Support rack installations, server deployments, cable management, and infrastructure setup activities.
- Collaborate with IT, Facilities, Security, and external vendors for infrastructure-related projects.

Laboratory Equipment Support

- Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory and test equipment.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), calibrations, and equipment health checks.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).




- Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, relocations, and decommissioning activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with vendors for repairs, spare parts, and service support.
- Maintain maintenance records, calibration reports, service history, and equipment documentation.
- Assist engineering teams with evaluations, experiments, validation activities, and data collection.

Documentation & Asset Management

- Maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, repair, and service records.
- Manage Jira tickets, Confluence documentation, asset databases, and equipment tracking systems.
- Track laboratory assets, spare parts inventory, consumables, and equipment utilization.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Follow ESD controls, PPE requirements, laboratory safety standards, and company policies.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required records, reports, and documentation.
- Drive adherence to 5S/6S methodologies and laboratory best practices.
- Participate in TPM, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.

Required Qualification





- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Robust understanding of desktop, server, hardware, and networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, calibration practices, and asset lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, or other ITSM/documentation platforms.
- Knowledge of ESD controls, laboratory safety standards, and audit requirements.
- Experience with RCA, CAPA, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Shell scripting.
- Experience supporting engineering applications, automation systems, and test platforms.
