Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for Classes VI–X who can inspire students to develop robust language skills and a deep appreciation for English literature. The ideal candidate should possess excellent subject knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to create an engaging and interactive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Teach English Language and Literature in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Develop students' reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, speaking, and listening skills.
- Deliver engaging lessons that promote literary appreciation, critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication.
- Ensure timely completion of the syllabus and conduct remedial or enrichment classes as required.
Student Development
- Encourage participation in debates, public speaking, creative writing, storytelling, literary competitions, quizzes,
and other language enrichment activities.
- Foster confidence in spoken and written English through interactive classroom practices.
- Guide students in presentations, Model United Nations (MUNs), essay writing, and co-curricular activities.
- Mentor students to become confident communicators, critical thinkers, and independent learners.
Assessment & Classroom Management
- Conduct formative and summative assessments, projects, and assignments in line with CBSE guidelines.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain academic records.
- Create a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide timely feedback to students and maintain effective communication with parents through PTMs and academic discussions.
Technology Integration & Administration
- Utilize Smart Boards, LMS, Google Workspace, and other digital resources to enhance language learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, school events, examinations, and professional development programmes.
- Contribute to literary events, language enrichment initiatives, and the development of academic resources.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. is mandatory.
- Master's Degree in English or English Literature will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
- Experience teaching English for Classes VI–X is preferred.
- Experience in preparing students for literary competitions, public speaking, or language enrichment programmes will be an added advantage.
