About the Role
As an Employee Relations Specialist , you will serve as a strategic partner to leaders and HR teams, balancing employee advocacy with business priorities while strengthening organizational capability. You will lead complex employee relations matters, build scalable governance frameworks, and influence organizational practices that promote fairness, consistency, compliance, and business performance.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.
- Conduct and oversee workplace investigations involving policy violations, misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, ethics concerns, and workplace conflicts.
- Advise leaders and HR Business Partners on performance improvement, disciplinary actions, grievance resolution, organizational changes, and other sensitive employee matters.
- Interpret and apply company policies while balancing employee experience, legal compliance, and business needs.
- Build and strengthen Employee Relations frameworks, policies, governance standards,
and operating processes that enable scalable, consistent, and risk-based decision making.
- Drive a structured risk-based approach through consistent governance, case documentation, escalation mechanisms, and resolution practices while increasing proactive interventions across the organization.
- Identify emerging workforce trends, recurring case themes, and systemic risks through case analytics and organizational insights, recommending preventive actions and long-term solutions.
- Partner with HRBPs, Legal, Compliance, Ethics, Security, and HR Generalists on complex employee relations matters, mitigating legal, operational, and reputational risks.
- Draft, review, and update Employee Relations policies, governance frameworks, and investigation standards to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization.
- Coach leaders and HR teams on Employee Relations best practices, fostering capability and confidence in managing people matters effectively.
- Support organizational change initiatives by assessing employee impact and ensuring appropriate Employee Relations support throughout business transformations.
- Promote a culture of fairness, inclusion, accountability, respect, and psychological safety through proactive employee advocacy and education.
Your Qualifications
- 8+ years of Human Resources experience with significant expertise in Employee Relations.
- Strong experience conducting workplace investigations involving misconduct, ethics concerns, policy violations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace complaints.
- Demonstrated expertise in grievance management, disciplinary processes, conflict resolution,
employee advocacy, and performance management support.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, labour laws, statutory compliance requirements, HR governance, and policy interpretation.
- Experience applying structured risk assessment and sound judgment to complex and highly sensitive employee relations matters.
- Proven ability to establish consistent governance, documentation standards, escalation practices, and investigation rigor while ensuring fairness and compliance.
- Experience identifying systemic workforce risks and driving proactive interventions that address recurring organizational themes.
- Ability to influence and coach leaders, HR Business Partners, and stakeholders on Employee Relations best practices and difficult people decisions.
- Solid stakeholder management skills with the ability to partner effectively across HR, Legal, Compliance, Ethics, and business leadership.
- Excellent investigation, interviewing, documentation, report writing, analytical, and case management skills.
