Job Purpose To ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted electrical supply throughout the hospital by carrying out preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and emergency electrical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, wiring, switches, sockets, lighting and electrical equipment.
- Attend electrical breakdowns and troubleshoot faults promptly.
- Perform preventive maintenance of electrical panels, DBs, generators, UPS systems and related equipment.
- Monitor electrical supply to critical hospital areas such as ICU, OT, emergency, wards and diagnostic departments.
- Check and maintain earthing, MCB, MCCB, ELCB/RCCB and other electrical safety systems.
- Maintain proper electrical maintenance records and checklists.
- Respond to electrical emergencies and take immediate corrective action.
- Coordinate with external electrical contractors and service agencies when required.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety procedures and applicable electrical safety requirements.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and report defects to the reporting manager.
- Maintain electrical tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Support facility maintenance activities during inspections, audits and NABH assessments.
- Use appropriate PPE and follow electrical safety precautions at all times.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical or equivalent qualification.
- Valid electrical competency/license as applicable is preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance.
- Hospital / healthcare facility experience will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Electrical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of electrical safety practices.
- Ability to handle emergency breakdowns.
- Basic documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Ability to work in shifts and during emergencies.
