Role: Electrical Design Manager (SME) - Data Center

Exp: 9-14 Years of experience in Electrical Systems designs

Qualification: BE Electrical - Uptime certified Accredited Tier Designer / Specialist, 3 years of experience directly related to data center or mission critical facility design.

Experience

- Experience with Datacenter, power systems and mission critical electrical designs
- Excellent understanding of the Indian Electrical Codes & CEIG requirements
- Detailed understanding of critical LV, MV and HV electrical equipment.
- Detailed understanding of relays, protections schemes, high-voltage circuit breakers, power and distribution transformers electrical switchgear, grounding and earthing.
- Experience with quick track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects.
- Experience with large scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms.

Purpose of the Role Design Engineer works to design resilient, cost effective electrical distribution systems and responsible for achieving a world class uptime for our Data Center customers. He justifies and communicate the technical decisions to Sr. Management and work hard to drive continuous advancements and improvements with our designs. In this role, you have the ability to drive change and define/design the systems our customers rely on and deliver 99.999% uptime to our customers

Critical Accountability

- The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the following: Work with internal teams to understand user requirements.





Critical Data Center equipment design including HV sub-stations, site-wide MV infrastructure, Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers and Earthing.

Creation of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.

Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.

Work with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements.

Review and approval of equipment submittals.

Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.

Participating in site selection reviews and site planning activities

- Creating of designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.
- Working with vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment.
- Working with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements.
- Reviewing and approval of equipment submittals.
- Ability to work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions.

- Designing, Budget Estimation, Planning of Electrical Equipments.
- Developing & checking SLDs, Control Schematic, control voltages, operating voltages, Relay settings & their operation by testing kits.
- Selection & sizing of electrical equipments of transformers, Bus ducts, HV/MV/LV switchgears,

- capacitor banks, UPS.
- Cable selection, Cable sizing for LV/HV systems, Cable scheduling, selection & sizing of cable trays,
- Earthing, Lightening Protection Scheme.
- Sub Station Design validation and engineering
