Role Overview The Media Director will lead and oversee the All India Football Federation's overall media, communications, digital content, and public relations functions. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy for Indian football, strengthening AIFF's relationship with media, fans, commercial partners, member associations, AFC, FIFA, and other stakeholders, and enhancing the visibility and reputation of Indian football at the national and international level.

The position will provide strategic direction to the AIFF Media Department, lead and develop the media team, oversee content and digital operations, and ensure consistent, timely, accurate, and high-quality communication across all AIFF platforms and activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and lead the overall media and communications strategy of AIFF, aligned with the Federation's organisational objectives and long-term vision.
- Lead, manage, and develop the AIFF Media Department, including allocation of responsibilities, performance management, mentoring, and coordination of internal and external content and communications personnel.
- Oversee all editorial and content output across AIFF's digital platforms, including the official website, social media channels, video platforms, and other communication platforms.
- Establish and maintain AIFF's official digital platforms as authoritative and credible sources of information on Indian football.
- Oversee communication and media strategy for all Indian national teams across age groups, including men's, women's, and youth national teams.
- Provide strategic communications support for major AIFF competitions, tournaments, events, programmes, campaigns, and institutional initiatives.
- Identify and develop compelling storylines around Indian football and proactively position them across AIFF's digital platforms and external media.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic PR campaigns around major events, milestones, national teams, players, development programmes, women's football, and other priority areas.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with national and international media organisations, broadcasters, journalists, digital platforms, commercial partners, member associations, and other key stakeholders.




- Develop effective communication and engagement models for key stakeholder groups, including fans, working media, sponsors, partners, member associations, players, coaches, and officials.
- Oversee AIFF's media operations at major matches, tournaments, national team activities, conferences, and official events, ensuring professional and consistent media standards.
- Establish media protocols, editorial standards, communication guidelines, and operational processes across AIFF activities.
- Serve as the senior communications point of contact during significant media situations, including sensitive issues and crisis communications, and advise senior management on appropriate messaging and response strategies.
- Review and approve major official communications, statements, campaigns, digital content, and other public-facing materials before publication, as required.
- Lead AIFF's communication and media engagement with AFC, FIFA, other confederations, national associations, and international football stakeholders.
- Coordinate with AIFF's commercial, marketing, competitions, technical, grassroots, administration, and other departments to ensure consistent organisational messaging.
- Work closely with AIFF member associations and state units to strengthen communication capabilities and improve integration with the national federation.
- Drive the promotion and visibility of women's football, youth football, grassroots development, and other strategic areas of Indian football.
- Develop strategies for the growth, distribution, audience engagement, and potential commercialisation of AIFF-owned content and intellectual property.
- Monitor and analyse digital, social media, website, and media performance using appropriate analytics tools and translate insights into actionable communication and content strategies.
- Oversee regular media monitoring, reporting, and analysis of AIFF's public profile, media coverage, audience engagement,



and communication performance.
- Represent the AIFF Media Department at internal and external meetings, conferences, workshops, stakeholder engagements, and official events as required.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, production companies, broadcasters, photographers, designers, consultants, and other communications service providers.
- Ensure that AIFF's communications adhere to applicable organisational policies, competition regulations, brand guidelines, contractual obligations, and legal requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in media, journalism, communications, public relations, sports media, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Graduate or Master's degree.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a media or communications team.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Indian football and the broader Indian sports ecosystem.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, media, partners, and the public.
- Strong understanding of digital media, social media platforms, content strategy, audience development, and digital analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic communications and PR campaigns.
- Strong media relations and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced sporting environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational, interpersonal, and crisis-management skills.
- Experience working with national or international sports organisations, federations, leagues, clubs, broadcasters, or major sporting events will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, matchdays, and travel domestically and internationally as required.
