The DGM – Raw Material (Ferro Division) is responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement planning, vendor development, and supply assurance of key raw materials (Ferro Alloys, Scrap, Coal, Coke, Fluxes, etc.) required for steel production. The role ensures uninterrupted plant operations, cost optimization, quality compliance, and supply risk mitigation through effective procurement strategy, supplier partnerships, and inventory control. The position drives long-term sourcing strategy, contract negotiations, and process improvements while leading cross-functional coordination with production, finance, logistics, and quality teams.

Job Responsibilities/ KRA :

1. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing

- Develop sourcing strategy for ferro raw materials.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply for production.
- Drive long-term procurement planning and contracts.

2. Cost Optimization & Commercial Negotiation

- Lead price negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.
- Monitor commodity trends and market intelligence.
- Optimize procurement cost and working capital.

3. Vendor Development & Relationship Management

- Identify and develop strategic suppliers.
- Evaluate vendor performance and risk exposure.
- Build long-term supplier partnerships.

4. Inventory & Supply Planning

- Maintain optimum inventory levels.
- Prevent stock-out or excess inventory.




- Improve inventory turnover and planning accuracy.

5. Quality & Compliance Management

- Ensure material quality as per production standards.
- Maintain compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with production, logistics, stores, and finance.
- Ensure timely material availability.

7. Team Leadership & Process Improvement

- Lead procurement team performance.
- Implement systems, ERP improvements, and best practices.

Educational Qualifications:

· B.Tech / BE (Metallurgy / Mechanical / Industrial preferred)

· MBA / PG in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred

Experience:

· 12–18 years in steel / ferro alloys / manufacturing procurement

· Robust experience in raw material sourcing and vendor negotiation

· Exposure to supply chain risk management and cost control
