This role requires a energetic mix of higher education administrative leadership, academic excellence, deep media industry connections, and a proactive drive for institutional growth. /n Working closely with the Dean and University Management, the Deputy Director will lead student recruitment strategies, spearhead marketing and branding campaigns, modernize curricula, expand industry partnerships, and cultivate a creative, industry-ready talent pipeline. /n Key Responsibilities /n 1.
Admissions
Drive & Student Recruitment /n /n
- Own Admission Targets: Design, execute, and monitor end-to-end recruitment strategies to meet and exceed annual enrollment goals across all diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate film programs.

- Outreach & Lead Generation: Lead outreach programs, school/college visits, media education workshops, career fairs, and open-day events to attract high-caliber talent across India and internationally.

- Counseling & Selection: Oversee the candidate evaluation process, entrance examinations, audition/portfolio reviews, and interview panels.

Marketing
Campaigns & Brand Building /n /n
- Campaign Strategy: Conceptualize and drive strategic marketing campaigns (digital, social media, print, and PR) in collaboration with the university's marketing team to position MITSFT as a premier film school.

- Content Creation: Leverage student films, alumni success stories, masterclasses,
and campus life to create compelling marketing collateral, showreels, and digital content.

- Film Festival & Public Footprint: Organize national film showcases, campus film festivals, and press events to heighten institutional brand visibility and media presence.

Academic
Leadership & Curriculum Innovation /n /n
- Collaborate with department heads to design, review, and modernize curricula across specializations (Direction, Cinematography, Sound Design, Editing, Screenwriting, and Production) aligned with global standards.

- Integrate emerging technologies (e.g., Virtual Production, AI in post-production, OTT workflows) into hands-on learning modules.
/n
- Oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.

- Supervise daily academic and administrative operations of the school.
/n
- Manage high-end production facilities, studios, editing suites, sound stages, and camera gear inventory to ensure seamless student access and maintenance.

- Oversee production workflows, safety protocols, and resource allocation for student thesis films and major projects.

Industry
Relations & Placement Collaborations /n /n
- Build strategic partnerships with production houses, OTT platforms, streaming networks, and media conglomerates.

- Facilitate masterclasses, guest lectures, industry mentorship programs, and live projects for students.
/n
- Spearhead internship and placement drives in coordination with the university placement cell.
/n /n Required Qualifications & Experience /n /n
- Education:
/n
- Master's Degree or MFA in Film Studies, Mass Communication, Film Production, Direction, or a related discipline from a recognized institute (FTII, SRFTI, NSD, or international equivalent preferred).
/n
- Ph.D. in a relevant media field or a dual background in Media Management/Marketing is a strong plus.

- Experience:

- 12–15+ years of combined experience across film/TV industry production, higher education leadership, or media institute management.
/n
- Proven track record in driving enrollment growth, executing promotional campaigns, and brand-building for academic or creative entities.
/n
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Department, Associate Professor/Professor, Dean, or Senior Industry Executive).
