Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Bangalore team and support data-driven decision-making across internal operations and client engagements.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large and diverse datasets, transforming raw data into meaningful insights, building dashboards and reports, identifying trends and anomalies, and communicating findings to business and technology stakeholders.

You will work closely with business teams, project managers, data engineers and technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Insights

- Collect, clean, validate and analyse structured and unstructured datasets.
- Identify trends, patterns, correlations, anomalies and business opportunities from data.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and develop meaningful insights.
- Translate business questions into analytical problems and data-driven solutions.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and support data-backed decision-making.

Dashboarding & Reporting

- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, MIS reports and analytical reports.
- Build KPI dashboards for management and project teams.
- Track business and operational metrics and identify performance gaps.
- Automate recurring reports and improve reporting efficiency.
- Present analytical findings in a transparent and business-friendly manner.

SQL & Data Management





- Write efficient SQL queries to extract, transform and analyse data.
- Work with relational databases and large datasets.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality checks.
- Support data preparation for analytics, BI and AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams on data pipelines and data models.

Business & Client Analytics

- Understand client and internal business requirements and convert them into analytical requirements.
- Support analytics projects across sectors such as Government, BFSI, Telecom, Manufacturing and FMCG.
- Prepare analytical presentations and reports for stakeholders.
- Support project teams with quantitative analysis and evidence-based recommendations.
- Work with multiple data sources and ensure consistency and accuracy of reported information.

Data Governance & Quality

- Identify data-quality issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
- Maintain data definitions, business rules and KPI documentation.
- Follow organisational standards for data security, privacy and governance.
- Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, reliable and reproducible.

Required Skills

Must Have:

- Strong proficiency in SQL .

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets , including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, conditional formulas and data cleaning.

- Hands-on experience with a BI/visualisation tool such as Power BI or Tableau .

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of data cleaning, transformation and validation.
- Ability to work with large datasets.
- Good understanding of KPIs, metrics and business reporting.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.

Good to Have:

- Working knowledge of Python , particularly Pandas and NumPy.

- Experience with statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of data warehouses, data lakes or lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

- Exposure to APIs, JSON and other data formats.
- Knowledge of data governance, MDM or data-quality frameworks.
- Exposure to AI/ML, geospatial data or real-time analytics.





TriData's Advanced Analytics practice specifically covers data lakes/lakehouses, executive BI, real-time streaming analytics, MDM and data governance , so exposure to these areas would be particularly valuable.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
- Candidates with a postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science or a related discipline will be preferred.

Experience

- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, MIS, Reporting or a related role.
- Freshers with strong hands-on projects in SQL, Excel, Power BI/Tableau and Python may also be considered.
