Job Summary The Cutting Supervisor is responsible for supervising all cutting operations, ensuring the timely availability of accurately cut materials for production while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. The role involves managing manpower, machines, material utilization, and coordination with production, planning, and quality departments.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Supervise daily cutting operations involving MS plates, pipes, rods, and other raw materials.
- Ensure materials are cut according to approved drawings, cutting plans, and production schedules.
- Plan and allocate work to cutting operators to achieve daily production targets.
- Monitor CNC Plasma, Laser, Oxy-Fuel, Band Saw, Shearing, and other cutting machines.
- Verify dimensions and quality of cut materials before dispatch to the next production stage.
- Ensure proper identification, marking, and traceability of cut materials.
- Minimize material wastage and optimize raw material utilization.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, and Fabrication departments for material availability.
- Monitor machine performance and arrange preventive maintenance with the maintenance team.
- Ensure all measuring instruments are calibrated and used correctly.
- Maintain production records, cutting reports, material consumption reports, and daily output reports.
- Investigate cutting defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering drawings, and customer specifications.
- Maintain housekeeping and implement 5S practices in the cutting section.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper use of PPE by all employees.
- Train and guide cutting machine operators on best practices and safety procedures.
- Monitor attendance, shift allocation, overtime,



and productivity of the cutting team.
- Coordinate with the Quality department for inspection and non-conformance resolution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of CNC Plasma, Laser, Oxy-Fuel, and Band Saw cutting operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints.
- Strong understanding of material grades (MS, SS, Alloy Steel, etc.).
- Knowledge of hydraulic cylinder manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Familiarity with nesting software for material optimization.
- Understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality inspection methods.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, and Steel Rules.
- Basic computer knowledge and ERP/MRP systems.
- Solid leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Qualification

- Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- ITI with extensive relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience

- 5–8 years of experience in a manufacturing or hydraulic engineering company.
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a cutting department.

This role is ideal for hydraulic cylinder, heavy engineering, fabrication, and industrial equipment manufacturing companies where precision cutting and material optimization are critical to production efficiency. Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
