Project Role : Custom Software Engineer
Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs.
Must have skills : Automotive Functional Safety & Security
Good to have skills : NA
Minimum 15 year(s) of experience is required
Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary We are seeking an experienced Test Architect to own the end-to-end bench validation strategy for a multi-domain automotive V&V; engagement covering Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29), Regulatory (FMVSS/ECE), and Quality. The role is accountable for assessing existing validation environments, designing the lightweight HIL/MIL/SIL/HIL bench strategy, and defining how AI-enabled validation capabilities and continuous smoke testing are integrated into the client's approved toolchain. This is an architecture and technical governance role, not a hands-on coding role, and requires the ability to operate strictly within a client-approved framework rather than a supplier-owned tooling stack.
Roles & Responsibilities -Own the overall bench validation architecture across Quality, FuSa, Cybersecurity, and Regulatory domains, mapping current-state capability to target-state coverage.
-Design lightweight HIL farm bench configurations and define bench setup, stabilization, and readiness criteria in line with client workplace constraints.
-Define the test strategy document (bench-based + AI-enabled) aligned to program requirements and client-required submission format.
-Define the AI-enabled validation approach — intelligent failure detection, automated log analysis, defect classification, and coverage-gap identification — strictly within client-approved AI frameworks,
governance, and toolchains.
-Define the continuous smoke testing model: trigger strategy (commit-gated / nightly / bench-availability-gated), scope tiering (sanity vs. regression vs. full), and CI/CD integration points.
-Establish requirements-to-test traceability architecture across Jira, Jama, and TestRail (or client-equivalent toolchain).
-Lead technical governance reviews, coverage assessments, and defect-trend analysis for monthly executive reporting.
-Act as the primary technical escalation point for architecture-level risks, bench readiness gaps, and cross-domain dependency conflicts.
-Mentor Domain SMEs, Test Engineers, and the AI/Automation team on bench standards, traceability discipline, and toolchain usage. Professional & Technical Skills -12+ years in automotive embedded/system validation, with at least 5 years in a test/validation architecture role.
-Deep expertise across MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL bench environments (e.g., dSPACE, NI VeriStand, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer or equivalent).
-Strong working knowledge of ASPICE (SWE.4–SWE.6, SUP.9/SUP.10, VAL.1), ISO 26262 (Part 4, Part 8 11 TCL), ISO/SAE 21434, and UNECE WP.29/R155/R156.
-Working knowledge of safety artefact derivation — HARA, Functional Safety Concept (FSC), Technical Safety Concept (TSC), ASIL (A–D) classification and decomposition — sufficient to architect test scope and rigor from these inputs.
-Working knowledge of cybersecurity artifact derivation — TARA outputs and Cybersecurity Assurance Level (CAL 1–4) — sufficient to architect cybersecurity bench test scope from risk assessments.
-Familiarity with FMVSS/ECE regulatory validation requirements and traceability expectations.
-Experience defining CI/CD-integrated continuous/smoke testing frameworks for automotive software releases (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipeline architecture).
-Working knowledge of AI-assisted validation concepts (log-based anomaly detection, defect clustering, coverage-gap analytics) and the governance discipline required to operate within a client-owned AI framework rather than a proprietary one.
-Proficiency with CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet/DoIP, and UDS diagnostics working knowledge of CAPL scripting for network-level test design.
-Hands-on experience designing distinct roles for requirements/traceability tooling (Jama Connect / DOORS / Polarion), test management and execution reporting (TestRail), and sprint/delivery tracking (Jira) — not treated interchangeably.
-Familiarity with KPI/dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI) for defining bench utilization, automation coverage, and defect-detection-efficiency metrics frameworks.
-Strong stakeholder management and technical writing skills — able to produce client-submittable strategy and coverage documentation.
-Experience working in globally distributed (onsite–offshore) Agile delivery models.
Additional
Information -Minimum 15 years of experience in Automotive Validation/Test Architecture.
-This position is based at our Bengaluru/Pune office (offshore, supporting a US-based onsite counterpart team).
-Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering — Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field is required.
-Certification in ISO 26262 Functional Safety and/or Automotive Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434) is preferred.
