Role Description This is a full-time, in office role for a Cost Estimation: Substation professional based in Ahmedabad. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for AIS and GIS substations, including equipment, materials, civil works, erection, testing, and commissioning activities.

The individual will analyze technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents, develop item-wise BOQs, and obtain and evaluate vendor and contractor quotations. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with engineering and procurement teams, updating cost databases, performing rate analysis, and supporting bid preparation and techno-commercial proposals.



The role also includes tracking actual project costs versus estimates, identifying variances, and contributing to cost optimization and budgeting for ongoing and future substation projects.

Qualifications

- Strong substation engineering and power systems knowledge, including familiarity with AIS/GIS substations, switchyard equipment, protection and control systems, and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and budgeting, including BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tender evaluation, and lifecycle cost assessment for EPC substation projects.
- Experience working with technical drawings and documentation, including single-line diagrams, layout drawings, equipment specifications, and construction drawings.
- Good command of project management and coordination skills, including scheduling, prioritization, cross-functional communication, and stakeholder alignment.
- Comfort with analytical and numerical tools, such as MS Excel, estimation software, and ERP or project cost control systems.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline; a diploma with substantial relevant experience may also be considered.
- Prior experience in EPC or utility projects, especially substation or transmission line cost estimation, will be an advantage.
- Attention to detail, ability to work on-site in Ahmedabad, and commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
