About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 8–10 years of strong hands-on experience in Node.js to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in API development, databases, distributed systems, microservices, and production-level system design.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can take ownership of backend architecture, solve complex technical problems, and build reliable systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js.
- Build high-performance applications using Express.js/NestJS and TypeScript.
- Design database schemas and optimize queries across MongoDB and PostgreSQL/MySQL.
- Work with Redis for caching, concurrency, and performance optimization.
- Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Work with Kafka/RabbitMQ for asynchronous processing and inter-service communication.
- Build real-time systems using WebSockets/Socket.io where required.
- Handle authentication, authorization, RBAC, API security, and data protection.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, memory issues, and production-level challenges.
- Design systems capable of handling high concurrency and large data volumes.
- Take ownership of backend architecture, technical decisions, development, testing, and production support.
- Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver reliable solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior/mid-level developers.
- Contribute to technical documentation, coding standards,



and engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8–10 years of professional backend/software development experience.
- 6+ years of strong hands-on experience with Node.js.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong experience with Express.js and/or NestJS.
- Excellent understanding of REST API design and backend architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL.
- Good knowledge of Redis, database indexing, query optimization, and transactions.
- Practical experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems.
- Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and concurrency.
- Experience with Docker and cloud environments such as AWS.
- Solid understanding of authentication, authorization, JWT, RBAC, and API security.
- Good understanding of Git, CI/CD, testing, debugging, and production deployments.
- Solid problem-solving and system-design skills.

Good to Have

- Experience building high-concurrency or real-time applications.
- Experience with WebSockets/Socket.io.
- Experience with AWS services, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with payment systems, financial platforms, CRM, or other transaction-heavy applications.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading backend technical initiatives.
