Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) to lead and oversee university-wide HR operations, faculty and staff management, statutory compliance, employee relations, and institutional HR strategy.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the higher education sector, with deep knowledge of academic HR practices, labour laws, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage university-wide HR operations for faculty and non-teaching staff.
- Develop and implement HR policies aligned with university regulations and institutional objectives.
- Ensure compliance with UGC regulations, labour laws, PF, ESI, and other statutory requirements.
- Manage complex salary structures, compensation, benefits, and payroll-related matters.
- Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Advise university leadership on HR strategy, workforce planning, and organisational development.
- Ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.




- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulations.

Eligibility & Requirements
- Prior experience as a University Registrar, Institutional Head of HR, CHRO, or equivalent senior HR leadership role in the higher education sector.
- Strong understanding of academic HR practices and institutional labour laws.
- Demonstrated expertise in statutory compliance, including UGC, PF, ESI, and labour regulations.
- Experience managing faculty and staff across a university/institutional environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and grievance-handling skills.
- Candidates with purely Corporate HR or IT HR backgrounds are not preferred.
- Preference for candidates with 20+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred age range: 50–60 years.
