Purpose/Objective A CFT Operator performs specialized protective service duties involving every phase of aircraft crash, fire, and rescue operations, as well as structural firefighting.

The role includes operating all related equipment during assigned shifts and maintaining a high level of readiness for emergency response.

CFT Officers undergo intensive training to develop thorough expertise in crashfirerescue procedures, including detailed knowledge of escape and rescue systems integrated into firefighting vehicles.

They are responsible for mastering all crashfirerescue equipment and ensuring they can apply the correct techniques during emergency missions.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Vehicle and Equipment Upkeep: Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of the CFT vehicle, onboard equipment, and communication systems.

Identify defects or malfunctions and ensure issues are addressed promptly to maintain operational readiness.

Reporting and Documentation: Complete and submit the vehicle inspection checklist at the start of each shift.

Immediately report any major mechanical or equipment defects to the supervisor in charge.

Crew Alertness and Readiness: Ensure the fire crew under command remains vigilant, prepared, and ready for immediate response.

Monitor crew discipline and readiness levels throughout the shift.

Training and Familiarization: Conduct training sessions for crew members on airfield layout, CFT operations, and equipment handling.

Provide continuous skillbuilding activities to maintain operational proficiency.

Emergency Turnout: Respond instantly to all emergency or fire calls,



following established procedures and supervisor instructions.

Assess the situation upon arrival and assist in executing the appropriate mitigation measures.

Rescue and Firefighting Leadership: Lead the crew during emergencies, ensuring proper execution of rescue and firefighting actions.

Coordinate with the supervisor in charge to adapt tactics based on situational demands.

CFT Operation: Drive and operate the Crash Fire Tender safely and efficiently under all conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification: ITI/Diploma or equivalent in Fire Fighting Technology Certification from an accredited firefighting academy is required.

Work Experience: 2-3 years of experience firefighting experience, preferably in aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) operations.
