Role Overview

We are looking for an Equity Research Analyst – BFSI to join the investment team of a leading asset management/investment management firm.

The role will focus on fundamental research and analysis of companies across the BFSI sector, supporting the investment team in identifying attractive investment opportunities and generating actionable investment insights.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct detailed fundamental equity research on companies across Banking, NBFCs, Insurance and other BFSI segments.
- Track and analyse company financials, business performance, industry trends and key operating metrics.
- Develop and maintain financial models, earnings estimates and valuation models.
- Prepare detailed company and sector research reports with clear investment views.
- Evaluate investment opportunities based on business quality, growth potential, valuations, management quality and industry dynamics.
- Monitor quarterly results, investor presentations, management commentary and regulatory developments.
- Participate in management interactions, analyst meets, earnings calls and industry discussions.
- Conduct peer benchmarking and comparative valuation analysis.
- Identify key investment risks, catalysts and potential triggers impacting portfolio companies.




- Work closely with the fund management/investment team and provide timely research inputs for investment decisions.
- Continuously track developments across the BFSI sector and maintain a strong understanding of the competitive and regulatory landscape.

Candidate Profile

- 2–6 years of experience in Equity Research, preferably with exposure to the BFSI sector.
- Candidates from Buy-Side Equity Research, PMS, AIF, AMC or Family Office backgrounds would be preferred.
- Robust understanding of Banking, NBFCs, Insurance and/or other financial services businesses.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills.
- Ability to independently conduct company and sector research.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and key BFSI operating metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and articulate a clear, well-supported investment thesis.
- CFA / CA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
