– Business Head (BH) – Medical Devices

Role Purpose The BH will be responsible for driving the overall business performance of the organisation with ownership of P&L;, Operations, Sales, Business Development and Growth. The role requires a strategic and hands-on business leader who can build scalable operations, strengthen the sales organisation, improve profitability, and accelerate growth in the medical device business.

Key Responsibilities

1. P&L; and Business Management

- Own the overall P&L; and deliver revenue, profitability, cash flow and growth targets.
- Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets and growth strategies.
- Monitor business performance through key financial and operational KPIs and take corrective actions.
- Drive cost optimisation, productivity and operational efficiency.

2. Sales & Business Growth

- Lead the overall sales and business development strategy across hospitals, institutions, distributors, government and other relevant channels.
- Develop new markets, geographies, products and business opportunities.
- Strengthen distributor/channel networks and strategic customer relationships.
- Build a high-performance sales organisation with transparent targets, accountability and performance metrics.
- Identify emerging market trends and translate them into business opportunities.

3. Operations

- Oversee end-to-end business operations including supply chain, procurement, production/contract manufacturing, logistics, quality and customer service.
- Ensure timely availability and delivery of products while maintaining cost and quality standards.




- Establish systems and processes to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Work closely with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with applicable medical device regulations and quality standards.

4. Strategy & Organisation Development

- Translate the company's vision into actionable business strategies and execution plans.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, partnerships, alliances, acquisitions, and new product development.
- Build organisational capabilities required to support the company's next phase of growth.
- Develop and mentor senior leadership and build a strong performance-oriented culture.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

- Work closely with the CEO/MD and functional heads across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR, Quality, Regulatory and R&D.;
- Ensure alignment between commercial objectives and operational capabilities.
- Establish effective MIS, review mechanisms, and governance processes for informed decision-making.

Candidate Profile

- Engineering graduate with an MBA in Marketing from a reputed institution.
- 20+ years of overall experience, preferably with significant leadership experience in the medical devices, healthcare, diagnostics, or allied industries.
- Proven experience in P&L; management and business leadership.
- Strong track record of driving sales growth, market expansion and profitability.
- Experience managing multi-functional teams across Sales, Operations and Business functions.
- Strong understanding of the Indian medical device market, institutional sales, distribution and channel management.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial orientation and execution capability.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
