Company: The Print Shop
Based at: Head office and experience centre, Naraina Industrial Area, New Delhi
Travel: Eventual client visits, approx. 5 days per month
Reports to: Directly to a Partner
Experience: 2–6 years
Compensation: ₹20,000 – ₹40,000 per month
About us
The Print Shop is a printing and packaging manufacturer. We produce QSR packaging, monocartons, sweet and cake boxes, carry bags, wedding hampers and festive gifting packaging, running sheet-fed offset printing with in-house fabrication at our facility in Pataudi, Haryana. Our head office and client experience centre are at Naraina, New Delhi.
Why this role matters to us
We are a small, flat organisation. This role reports directly to one of the partners — there is no layer in between. That means quick decisions, direct access, and real ownership of your accounts from the first enquiry to the delivered carton. It also means the work is broad. You will open new accounts and you will look after the ones you open, including the unglamorous part of chasing an order through production. We are looking for someone who wants both.
Key responsibilities
1. New business development
- Identify and pursue prospects across our target segments — QSR and food service, sweets and confectionery, bakery, gifting, FMCG and e-commerce.
- Cold calling and cold outreach to build your own pipeline. This is a real part of the job, not an occasional task.
- Qualify enquiries, understand the client's packaging requirement, and convert them into costed opportunities.
- Build and maintain a pipeline you can report on accurately.
2. Hosting clients at our experience centre
- Host prospective and existing clients at our Naraina experience centre.
- Present our capabilities, product range and samples in a way that connects to what that particular client actually needs.
- Turn a visit into a live enquiry — a client walking out impressed but without a specification is a wasted visit.
- Keep the sample display current and relevant.
3. Client visits across India
- Travel to clients across the country for meetings, presentations and relationship building.
- Plan travel efficiently and make each trip account for more than one meeting where possible.
- Submit clear visit reports and follow up on every commitment made.
4. Managing existing clients
- Own your accounts end to end — enquiry, quotation, order, production, delivery and repeat business.
- Anticipate reorders rather than waiting for them, particularly ahead of the festive season when volumes rise sharply.
- Handle complaints and quality issues honestly and quickly.
- Follow up on outstanding payments alongside the accounts team.
5. Sales–production coordination
- Translate what the client wants into a clear, complete brief for production — specification, artwork, quantity, delivery date, nothing assumed.
- Track order progress through the plant and keep the client informed before they have to ask.
- Manage changes, urgent requirements and delivery expectations realistically. Do not commit what the plant cannot deliver.
- Coordinate samples, dummies, mockups and artwork approvals between the client and our design and production teams.
6. Quotations and commercials
- Work with the team to prepare accurate, professional quotations.
- Understand the cost build-up well enough to negotiate sensibly and to know when a price does not work for us.
- Maintain rate and quotation records for your accounts.
7. Reporting
- Report pipeline, forecast, visits and account status directly to the partner you report to.
- Bring back market intelligence — what competitors are quoting, where demand is shifting, what clients are asking for that we do not yet offer.
What we're looking for
Must have
- 2+ years in B2B sales, business development or client servicing.
- Printing and packaging industry experience is strongly preferred.
The learning curve here is steep — board types, GSM, structures, printing processes, finishing, lead times — and coming in with that grounding makes a substantial difference in your first year.
- Willingness to travel across India regularly.
- Comfortable with cold calling and cold outreach, and able to keep going through rejection.
- Fluent English and Hindi; presentable and confident hosting senior client contacts.
- Strong follow-through. Most business in our trade is won on reliability, not on the first pitch.
- Working knowledge of Excel and email; comfortable learning our ERP.
Good to have
- Existing relationships in QSR, food service, confectionery, gifting or FMCG.
- Understanding of offset printing, corrugation, lamination, foiling and packaging structures.
- Experience coordinating between a sales function and a production floor.
- An additional regional language.
How you work
- Equally comfortable opening a new account and chasing a dispatch. Both matter here.
- Organised — you will run many accounts and orders in parallel, and detail dropped at the brief stage becomes a scrapped job.
- Straight with clients about what we can and cannot do, and straight with us about where a deal actually stands.
- Self-directed. Reporting to a partner means little supervision and high expectations.
What success looks like
Timeline | Outcome | | First 30 days | Know our product range, capabilities and lead times; introduced to all handover accounts; first client visits completed. |
First 90 days | Running the handover accounts independently; a built pipeline of qualified new prospects; first new enquiries converted. |
First 6 months | New accounts opened and producing repeat orders; existing accounts retained and grown; coordination running smoothly enough that production is not chasing you for briefs. |
