Azure Systems Administrator role is responsible for the day-to-day health of our Microsoft Azure environment. This is a hands-on infrastructure role for a seasoned practitioner — not a project-only or advisory engagement. You will be the person responsible for our virtual machines, networking, identity, security posture, backups, and disaster recovery readiness.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded infrastructure generalist who is equally comfortable troubleshooting a Linux service, hardening a Windows Server, redesigning a virtual network, and explaining a security decision in plain language. You should be self-directed, communicate proactively, and be comfortable operating as the senior technical authority on cloud infrastructure within a small, focused team.
This role is structured as a part-time or contract engagement with a flexible schedule, with the expectation of reliable availability for scheduled maintenance and reasonable responsiveness to critical incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Azure Infrastructure & Administration
- Administer the full Azure environment, including subscriptions, resource groups, tagging, and governance policies.
- Provision, configure, size, and maintain Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, App Services, and related PaaS resources.
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) — users, groups, role-based access control, conditional access, and multi-factor authentication.
- Server Administration — Linux and Windows
- Administer both Linux and Windows Server workloads, including builds, hardening, patching, and performance tuning.
- Manage Windows Server services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and IIS.
- Manage Linux services and tooling — shell scripting, systemd, package management, cron, SSH key management, and web/application services.
- Networking & Topology
- Design, document, and maintain network topology, including virtual networks, subnets, peering,
and hub-and-spoke architecture.
- Configure and manage network security controls: network security groups, application security groups, Azure Firewall, and Web Application Firewall.
- Manage connectivity between cloud and on-premises or third-party environments, including VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, and site-to-site tunnels.
- Security
- Own the security posture of the Azure environment, using Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, and Secure Score as working tools rather than dashboards.
- Design and enforce least-privilege access, privileged identity management, key and secret rotation, and Azure Key Vault practices.
- Harden servers, endpoints, and network boundaries against current threat patterns, and remediate findings from vulnerability scans.
- Configure and tune logging, alerting, and threat detection via Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and SIEM tooling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Microsoft Azure administration experience in a production environment.
- Demonstrated experience administering both Linux and Windows Server operating systems in the same environment.
- Strong security background, including identity and access management, server and network hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security monitoring.
- Strong command of network topology and design — virtual networks, subnetting, routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS, and load balancing.
- Proven ownership of backup and disaster recovery, including designing retention policies and performing verified restores.
- Practical scripting and automation ability with PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, or infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms and the judgment to know what is worth alerting on.
- Sound troubleshooting methodology and the ability to work root-cause problems independently.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month

- Adaptable schedule
