Azure Databricks Administrator (Mid-Level) – Healthcare

Lead the company's migration from SQL Server to Azure Databricks and own the platform that powers our healthcare data operations. This is a hands-on administrator role on our Data Operations team — a group of DBAs and data engineers focused on modernizing the data platform, where teaching and mentoring are part of the culture. You will administer Databricks workspaces across development, test, and production; configure and optimize clusters, cluster policies, instance pools, SQL Warehouses, and job scheduling for cost, performance, and reliability; and implement Lakehouse architecture with Medallion data patterns (Bronze, Silver, Gold).

You will own governance and security — Unity Catalog, RBAC, workspace permissions, and data access controls — and collaborate with Azure platform teams on Key Vault, Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints, Managed Identities, and Azure Monitor. You will automate workspace provisioning, user onboarding, and cluster deployments with Terraform and CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), support Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI/ML teams, coordinate SQL Server installations, upgrades, and patches during the transition, and provide on-call support for production, test,



and development environments based on criticality — all while keeping data availability high and PHI handled per HIPAA requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years of experience administering enterprise data platforms, with 3+ years of hands-on Databricks administration.
- Strong experience with Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Microsoft Entra ID, and Azure networking.
- Experience implementing RBAC, security policies, and governance controls across workspaces and data assets.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Experience managing production environments and platform support operations, including incident management and on-call rotations.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and scripting languages for automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code — Terraform preferred — and CI/CD integration via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and provisioning of SQL Server databases, including installations, upgrades, and patching.
- Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, or other compliance frameworks relevant to healthcare data.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
