Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Application Packaging & Virtualization Specialist with strong hands-on expertise in Flexera AdminStudio, MSI packaging, Application Virtualization (App-V), PowerShell, VBScript, Batch scripting, and SCCM/MECM deployment . The candidate will be responsible for enterprise application packaging, customization, remediation, testing, deployment, and L3 support.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and customize MSI packages using Flexera AdminStudio from EXE installers, files, registry entries, services, drivers, scheduled tasks, and custom configurations.
- Create and manage MST transforms based on customer and environment-specific requirements.
- Perform MSI upgrades, including Major Upgrades, Minor Upgrades, patches, and revisions.
- Develop and maintain MSI Custom Actions where required.
- Work with Merge Modules, Registry Permissions, Active Setup, and user-based configurations.
- Develop advanced PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch scripts for packaging, installation, detection, remediation, and automation.
- Perform application remediation and troubleshooting for installation failures, application conflicts, OS/patch compatibility issues, and post-deployment failures.
- Sequence applications using Microsoft App-V and troubleshoot virtualization-related issues.
- Integrate applications with other enterprise applications and application suites.
- Publish and deploy packaged applications through SCCM/MECM.
- Configure appropriate SCCM detection methods, dependencies, return codes, and deployment settings.




- Troubleshoot failed SCCM deployments, content distribution issues, and application installation failures.
- Perform comprehensive QA testing, silent installation/uninstallation validation, regression testing, and UAT support.
- Coordinate with EUC teams, business users, and customers during UAT and deployment activities.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, packaging documentation, knowledge-base articles, and technical activity reports.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide regular status and activity reports.
- Provide L3 production support and assist L2 teams with knowledge transfer.
- Support a 24x7 environment and work in shifts when required.

Required Expertise
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end application packaging lifecycle, from source analysis through packaging, QA, UAT, deployment, and production support.
- Hands-on experience converting EXE installers to MSI packages using Flexera AdminStudio.




- Experience packaging applications containing Windows Services, Drivers, Scheduled Tasks, Registry entries, and custom configurations.
- Strong knowledge of MSI validation and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of Major Upgrade, Minor Upgrade, Patch, and MST concepts.
- Experience creating SCCM detection logic using MSI, registry, file, or PowerShell-based methods.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex packaging and deployment issues.
- Robust scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
