About the Role

Bluebox is looking for an AI & Automation Engineer to build automation systems across marketing, research, prospecting, outreach and growth.

You will work with tools such as n8n, Apify, Make, Zapier, APIs, web scraping, browser automation and AI models to collect and process data, connect platforms and automate workflows.

The role is highly hands-on. You will be expected to understand a business objective, work out how it can be automated, build the workflow, test it and improve it.

What You Will Work On

You may build systems for:

- Prospect and company research
- Lead generation and enrichment
- Web scraping and data collection
- Identifying target companies and decision-makers
- Market and competitor research
- Monitoring company, industry and market signals
- Automated outreach and follow-up workflows
- Personalised prospect research using AI
- Content and topic research
- SEO and marketing research
- Campaign data collection and analysis
- Connecting lead sources, enrichment platforms, outreach tools and CRM systems

Over time, you may also work on automation opportunities across other areas of the business.

Responsibilities

Automation Workflows

Design, build and maintain multi-step workflows using platforms such as:

- n8n
- Make
- Zapier

Build workflows involving:
- Triggers and schedules
- Conditional logic
- Loops and branching
- Webhooks
- API calls
- Data transformations
- Human approvals
- Error handling
- Logging and retries

Web Scraping & Data Collection

Build systems for collecting and structuring information from websites and other relevant data sources.

Work with technologies such as:

- Apify
- Scraping APIs
- Playwright or Puppeteer
- Browser automation
- Python or JavaScript

Build data collection workflows that are repeatable,



maintainable and reliable.

APIs & Integrations

Connect applications and data sources using:

- REST APIs
- Webhooks
- HTTP requests
- JSON
- API keys and OAuth
- Databases and external data sources

Read API documentation and build integrations where ready-made connectors are unavailable.

AI Automation

Use AI and LLM APIs within larger workflows for tasks such as:

- Research
- Classification
- Information extraction
- Summarisation
- Lead scoring
- Personalisation
- Content analysis
- Data cleaning and transformation
- Decision support

Testing & Reliability

Test workflows thoroughly and build appropriate handling for:

- Failed API requests
- Authentication errors
- Rate limits
- Duplicate data
- Invalid inputs
- Scraping failures
- Unexpected responses
- Workflow interruptions

Monitor and troubleshoot automations when problems occur.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience in automation, integrations, scraping, development or related technical work.

You should have practical experience with several of the following:

- n8n
- Make or Zapier
- Apify or similar scraping platforms
- REST APIs
- Webhooks
- JavaScript and/or Python
- JSON and data transformation
- Web scraping
- Browser automation
- API authentication and OAuth
- AI / LLM APIs
- SQL or databases
- SaaS integrations
- Workflow debugging

You should be comfortable learning new tools and platforms as required.
