Job Purpose The AHA Trainer / EMT Training Faculty will be responsible for delivering high-quality EMT, First Responder, CPR, BLS, and related emergency medical training programs. The role involves classroom and practical instruction, learner assessment, remediation, training documentation, PCR and ambulance audits, equipment and inventory checks, and supporting the continuous improvement of EMS training and patient care standards.
The trainer will ensure that all training activities are conducted in accordance with applicable AHA guidelines, EMS standards, organizational policies, and quality and safety requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. EMT & First Responder Training
- Conduct EMT and First Responder training programs as per approved curriculum, organizational requirements, and applicable EMS standards.
- Deliver theoretical, practical, simulation-based, and hands-on training sessions.
- Ensure participants develop the knowledge, clinical skills, judgment, and confidence required for effective emergency patient care.
1. AHA / CPR Training
- Conduct CPR, BLS, ACLS, and other applicable AHA training programs within the scope of the trainer's authorization and qualifications.
- Ensure training is delivered in accordance with current AHA guidelines and course requirements.
- Conduct skills demonstrations, practice sessions, and performance assessments.
1. Training Planning & Coordination
- Participate in the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of EMS educational programs for EMTs and other healthcare/emergency response personnel.
- Support development and improvement of training schedules, course plans, and educational activities.
- Coordinate with the Training Department and operational teams to ensure smooth delivery of training programs.
1. Instructional Delivery
- Prepare and deliver training programs onsite and online, as required.
- Supervise participants during classroom, practical, simulation,
and skills-based instructional sessions.
- Create an engaging learning workplace that encourages participation, critical thinking, and practical application of knowledge.
1. Learner Assessment & Remediation
- Evaluate learner knowledge, practical skills, and overall performance through appropriate assessments.
- Provide timely, constructive, and individual feedback to participants.
- Identify learning gaps and develop appropriate remediation plans.
- Maintain high standards of educational quality and participant competency.
1. Training Administration & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of courses, participants, assessments, attendance, grades, and certification status.
- Complete and submit required training reports and documentation within defined timelines.
- Ensure all educational and participant records are complete, accurate, and properly maintained.
1. Inventory & Material Audit
- Conduct regular inventory checks of medical equipment, training equipment, consumables, and other assigned materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report shortages, damages, or expired items.
- Ensure training equipment and medical resources are available and maintained as per requirements.
1. Policy & SOP Implementation
- Implement organizational policies, SOPs, clinical protocols, and training standards as communicated by the Head Office.
- Ensure EMTs and ambulance personnel understand and comply with applicable policies and procedures.
- Support monitoring and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
1. EMS Staff Development
- Lead, guide, coach,
and train ambulance staff, interns, EMTs, volunteers, and other personnel involved in emergency medical services.
- Identify training needs and recommend appropriate refresher or competency-based training.
- Support recruitment and orientation activities for EMTs, volunteers, and other relevant personnel when required.
1. Training Promotion
- Participate in activities that promote EMS education and training programs.
- Support recruitment drives, orientation programs, awareness activities, and training-related marketing events as appropriate.
- Represent the organization professionally during external training and educational activities.
1. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to established company policies, procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain professional conduct and confidentiality while dealing with participants, patients, staff, and organizational information.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
1. Other Responsibilities
- Perform other training, educational, audit, operational, and job-related duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Job Requirements Educational Qualification
- BAMS / BHMS from a recognized/reputed university.
- B.Sc. Nursing candidates with relevant experience as a Nursing Educator may also be considered.
- BAMS / BHMS with PGDEMS will be preferred.
- Candidates should have valid AHA BLS and ACLS certification.
- Additional EMS, First Aid, EMT, or emergency care certifications will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in training/education, preferably in EMT, EMS, emergency care, healthcare, or clinical training.
- Experience in ambulance operations, EMS systems, clinical education, or healthcare training will be preferred.
- Experience in conducting practical skills training and learner assessments will be an advantage.
