- Lead and manage a team of 2 academic counsellors assign leads, monitor daily call/follow-up activity, and ensure consistent quality of counselling
- Personally counsel and convert high-value or complex student/parent enquiries on DNS and GP Rating eligibility, fees, documentation and medical requirements
- Train and coach the team on eligibility criteria, objection handling, and honest, non-overpromising communication with students and parents
- Review team performance against monthly conversion targets and course-correct where numbers are slipping
- Own the team's CRM/lead-tracker hygiene — ensure every enquiry is logged, followed up on schedule, and not left to go cold
- Handle escalations — difficult parent conversations, disputed eligibility cases, or fee/documentation issues the team can't resolve alone
- Coordinate with the academic and operations team to keep the enquiry-to-admission handoff smooth across all three counsellors
- Report team performance, lead volume,
and conversion numbers to admissions leadership on a regular cadence
- Represent SIMS (personally and via the team) at counselling sessions, campus visits and education fairs
- Own the team's overall monthly counselling and conversion target, not just individual output
Preferred candidate profile
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- 13 years' experience in admissions counselling, tele-calling, education sales or similar target-driven role
- Strong communication skills in Hindi and English
- Comfortable with high enquiry volume and structured follow-up
- Working knowledge of CRM tools, WhatsApp Business, MS Office/Google Sheets
- Prior experience in maritime/education counselling a plus (not mandatory)
