Job Title: Data Engineer

Salary Range: INR 30 LPA to 36 LPA

The role focuses on supporting a strategic migration project from Alteryx workflows to Microsoft Fabric services, leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and Microsoft Copilot. The position requires collaboration with business and technical teams to ensure accurate migration and operationalization of data engineering solutions.

Role Overview: The Data Engineer will be part of an international team designing and delivering new applications, a global organization with diverse subsidiaries. This role is centered on accelerating the migration of Alteryx workflows into Microsoft Fabric using AI-assisted tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze existing Alteryx workflows to understand business logic, transformation rules, dependencies, data inputs, outputs, and validation need.
- Use AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code to accelerate migration to Microsoft Fabric services.
- Review, validate, debug, optimize, and enhance AI-generated migration code before deployment.
- Build and support data engineering solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric capabilities such as Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Spark Notebooks, One Lake, and Delta Parquet tables.
- Collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), business users,



and technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate migrated outputs.
- Participate in requirement walkthroughs, solution reviews, testing discussions, user validation sessions, and deployment readiness activities.
- Perform data reconciliation, validation, and issue analysis to ensure migrated solutions meet expected business results.
- Troubleshoot failures or discrepancies in workflows and identify corrective actions.
- Follow Git-based source control practices.
- Use Microsoft Copilot and Claude Code responsibly to improve productivity and problem-solving.
- Document migration logic, assumptions, dependencies, known issues, and technical details.
- Define reusable migration patterns and best practices for Alteryx to Fabric migration.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies and maintain updated work items.
- Communicate implementation logic, validation results, risks, and resolutions to technical and non-technical users.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Analytics, or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric services including Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Spark Notebooks, One Lake, and Delta Parquet tables.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Proficient SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, validation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Good understanding of data engineering concepts such as ETL/ELT, data quality, validation, workflow orchestration, and Lakehouse architecture.
- Familiarity with Git concepts.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Microsoft Copilot to enhance development productivity.
- Ability to critically review, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize AI-generated code and migration outputs.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to work directly with BSAs and business users to clarify requirements and validate outputs.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with defined migration timelines and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Considerations

- Prior experience with Alteryx Designer and workflow development.
- Experience migrating workflows or data processes from Alteryx to cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience with PySpark and Lakehouse-based data engineering solutions.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for code generation, documentation, debugging, and optimization.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering practices to improve AI-assisted development outputs.
- Understanding of up-to-date data platform design patterns and reusable engineering frameworks.
- The role requires frequent collaboration with BSAs, business users, and technical teams.
- Candidates should be comfortable participating in requirements clarification, workflow reviews, validation discussions, and user acceptance activities.
- Ability to work independently while aligning with team standards and project priorities.
