JOB TITLE: QC Inspector

REPORTING TO: Head Inspection

1. Purpose:

is a part of Company Quality Policies and Procedures. This standard defines the tasks and responsibilities of the QC Inspector for Tema India Pvt. Ltd in the Kherdi Works.

This standard is valid for all employees associated with this role.

1. General:

The QC Inspector is responsible for overall inspection activities and other inspection activities as designated by Head Inspection at Kherdi Works or site controlled from Kherdi in accordance with Codes, Standards and Customer Specifications as per companys Quality Policy, procedures and work instructions for customized and standard equipment.
1. Tasks and Responsibilities:

The QC Inspector shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Departmental Management

- Periodic review of the live load in the shop-floor. Plan job distribution among inspection staff and their effective utilization.
- Arrange inspection and communicate results of offered stages in time.
- Ensure quality of product as per respective QAP/Weld Plan/NDE Plan and Drawing.
- Interaction with TPI for getting the stages approved as per QAP.
- Arrange to ensure use of calibrated measuring and monitoring devices.
- Identify the in-process Non-conformity and arrange for disposition as per code or customer specification requirements.
- Suggest the corrective measures to nullify the non-conformities identified by customers or TPI.
- Ensure NDT and other testing results in time through interaction with NDE department and laboratory in-charges.
- Preparation and approval of QC dossier in time and maintenance of records as per set retention period.

Innovation and Newness




- Employ the concept of Self Inspection to make the workmen and supervisor more responsible for their work and reduce rework after inspection.
- Implementation of optical instruments for quality inspection.
- Implementation of spot checks in welding to ensure better control.

Organizational responsibilities
- Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Ensure implementation of ISO 9001 for continual improvement.
- Review and revise work instruction and procedures pertaining to inspection and testing in line with international Standards from time to time.
- Ensure up-gradation in competency of inspectors through training in identified areas.
- Arrange to send major material Identification reports to head Office

Key Result Areas (KRA’s)
- Arrange to get the inspection stage cleared from TPI without any delay.
- Co-ordinate with production planning to ensure pre-planning in TPI stages as per their visit.
- Ensure dimensions & quality of the product with respect to referenced documents & standards.
- Ensure use of measuring instruments duly calibrated.
- Proactive approach to counter the rework and repairs.
- Arrange to ensure control of documents and records as per TEMA’s QSM, QCM.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Ensure inspection of 90 % offered stages in same shift and balance in following shift.
- Ensure to eliminate the deviations pointed out by TPI once the stage is cleared by TEMA’s inspection.
- 100 % Adherence to approved inspection & test plan and availability of records accordingly
- Upgrade the skill of minimum 2 sub-ordinates / inspectors.

Reports To: Head Inspection This will be reviewed on a regular basis in consultation with the post holder
