Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor

Job Summary The Kitchen Helper is responsible for supporting the kitchen team in food preparation, cleaning, dishwashing, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Assist the chef and kitchen staff with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables and other ingredients.
- Wash and clean vegetables, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas.
- Perform dishwashing duties, including cleaning plates, glasses, spoons, forks, cooking vessels, and other kitchen utensils.
- Ensure all dishes and utensils are properly cleaned, sanitized, dried, and stored in their designated places.
- Keep the kitchen, washing area, counters, floors, and storage areas clean and hygienic.
- Collect and dispose of kitchen waste properly as per company hygiene and waste-disposal procedures.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and arranging kitchen supplies and raw materials.
- Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, shelves, worktables, sinks, and other kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Support the chef during busy hours to ensure timely food preparation and service.
- Check and maintain adequate availability of cleaning materials, dishwashing supplies, and basic kitchen items.




- Follow food safety, personal hygiene, and workplace safety standards at all times.
- Wear proper uniform, apron, gloves, hairnet, and other required protective equipment.
- Immediately report damaged equipment, leakage, shortage of supplies, or any safety/hygiene issue to the supervisor.
- Follow instructions given by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor and maintain discipline at the workplace.
- Perform any other kitchen-support duties assigned by the management.

Key Skills & Requirements
- Basic knowledge of kitchen cleaning and hygiene.
- Ability to handle dishwashing and kitchen cleaning work efficiently.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Team player with a positive and disciplined attitude.
- Punctual, responsible, and hardworking.
- Previous kitchen/helper experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Performance Expectations
- Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
- Complete dishwashing and cleaning duties on time.
- Support the kitchen team efficiently during peak hours.
- Minimize wastage and properly handle kitchen materials.
