Role Description This full-time, remote Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) Engineer role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and reporting security weaknesses across applications, networks, and systems. The engineer will plan and execute penetration tests, perform vulnerability scans, and validate remediation efforts in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
Daily tasks include preparing test plans, documenting findings, creating clear technical and non-technical reports, and recommending practical mitigation strategies. The role also involves staying current with emerging threats, security tools, and best practices, supporting continuous improvement of security processes and controls,
and contributing to secure architecture reviews when needed.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess solid skills in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, including hands-on experience with common tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit, Nessus, OWASP ZAP).
- Candidates should possess skills in network and system security, such as TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, operating system hardening, and secure configuration management.
- Candidates should possess skills in application and web security, including understanding of OWASP Top 10, secure coding principles, and testing APIs, web applications, and mobile apps.
- Candidates should possess analytical and documentation skills, including risk analysis, clear report writing, and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, or PCI DSS, and basic knowledge of regulatory requirements related to information security.
- Relevant certifications such as CEH, OSCP, eJPT, CISSP, or similar security credentials are beneficial.
- Experience working in remote, cross-functional teams, with strong communication, time management, and collaboration skills is expected.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
