Role Overview

Urban Whims is looking for a US Accounting & Bookkeeping Trainer with hands-on experience in U.S. accounting and bookkeeping. The candidate will train team members on practical U.S. bookkeeping processes, accounting transactions, financial reporting, and accounting software.

The ideal candidate should be strong in QuickBooks Online, Xero, U.S. bookkeeping, invoicing, sales, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, sales tax, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver practical training on U.S. accounting and bookkeeping.

Train employees on day-to-day bookkeeping transactions.

Teach QuickBooks Online and Xero.

Explain chart of accounts and transaction categorization.

Train on customer and vendor setup.

Demonstrate

Sales and purchases

Invoices and bills

Customer and vendor payments

Expenses and receipts

Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

Bank and credit-card transactions

Journal entries and adjustments

Bank reconciliation

Sales tax

Month-end closing

Explain how transactions flow into the General Ledger, Trial Balance, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement.

Train participants on identifying and correcting bookkeeping errors.

Create practical exercises, transaction-based assignments, and case studies.

Conduct assessments and provide feedback/coaching.

Keep training content updated with relevant U.S. accounting practices and regulatory changes.

Required Skills





Solid practical knowledge of U.S. accounting and bookkeeping.

Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero.

Knowledge of

U.S. bookkeeping practices

US GAAP basics

AP/AR

Invoicing and sales accounting

Expense and purchase accounting

Bank reconciliation

Journal entries

Month-end closing

Financial statements

U.S. sales-tax concepts

Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.

Excellent communication and teaching ability.

Ability to explain accounting concepts clearly and practically.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

U.S. accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred.

Experience working with U.S.-based clients is preferred.

CPA, CMA, QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent certification is an advantage.

Prior accounting training, mentoring, or coaching experience is preferred.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be able to perform and teach real-world U.S. bookkeeping, not just explain accounting theory.

They should be comfortable demonstrating a complete workflow such as:

Sale → Invoice → Sales Tax → Accounts Receivable → Customer Payment → Bank Reconciliation → Financial Statements and:

Purchase → Vendor Bill → Accounts Payable → Payment → Bank Reconciliation → Financial Statements

Work Arrangement

Full-time | Remote The candidate must be comfortable conducting online training, demonstrations, assessments, and one-on-one coaching in a remote environment.
