Role & responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee end-to-end UK payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely processing for all employees
- Validate payroll data including current starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, and deductions
- Ensure correct calculation of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, etc.).
- Review and reconcile payroll output to maintain accuracy prior to approvals and disbursement
- Ensure payroll processes fully comply with HMRC regulations, RTI reporting, and UK employment law
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax codes, auto-enrolment pensions, and statutory legislation changes
- Support internal and external payroll audits by providing documentation and analysis
