n Role Overview:
n We are looking for a Science Instructional Designer to lead curriculum design, assessment planning, and instructional design for Senior School Science. The role will own the end-to-end curriculum lifecycle from design and implementation to assessment and evidence analysis and support teachers and coordinators through professional development and instructional resources.
n Educational Qualifications
n n B.Sc./M.Sc./M.Phil./Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related disciplines.
n B.Ed./M.Ed. with a Science specialization or relevant Science Education/STEM qualifications may also be considered.
n n Experience
n n Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, assessment design, educational content development, publishing, or Science education research.
n K–12 teaching or learning-resource development experience is preferred.
n Familiarity with CBSE, ICSE, State Boards, IB, Cambridge, competency-based, inquiry-based, and STEM learning approaches.
n Experience developing interdisciplinary, project-based, experiential, or laboratory-based learning resources is an advantage.
n n Key Responsibilities
n Curriculum & Instructional Design
n n Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Science curriculum using research-based practices.
n Develop curriculum frameworks, lesson plans, assessments, laboratory activities, and learning resources aligned with learning outcomes.
n Ensure alignment with Board and State curriculum requirements and manage curriculum transitions across grades.
n Maintain and update Science content across digital learning platforms.
n Stay current with emerging technologies, pedagogies, curriculum frameworks, and best practices in Science education.
n Demonstrate subject expertise in at least one Science discipline,



with robust knowledge of the broader Science curriculum.
n n Assessment & Student Learning
n n Design assessments and analyse data to identify learning gaps, trends, and student progress.
n Develop baseline assessments, remediation plans, and tools to measure learning outcomes.
n Recommend teaching-learning strategies and interventions to maintain high academic standards.
n Design enrichment and STEM-based self-paced learning opportunities.
n n Teacher Development & Academic Support
n n Support teachers in planning effective, inquiry-based and experiential learning experiences.
n Design and conduct professional development sessions on curriculum, pedagogy, assessments, laboratory practices, and instructional strategies.
n Conduct curriculum and pedagogy audits and visit campuses to understand contextual requirements and recommend improvements.
n Support new ELC team members in understanding Ekya's pedagogy, curriculum, and culture.
n n Science & STEM Programmes
n n Plan and monitor Science competitions, STEM fairs, exhibitions, Olympiad preparation, innovation programmes, and career-awareness initiatives.
n Develop Science engagement programmes for students, teachers, and parents.
n Monitor programme implementation and evaluate effectiveness.
n n Core Competencies
n n Strong understanding of scientific inquiry, experimental design, data interpretation, critical thinking, and STEM education.
n Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
n Knowledge of current Science curriculum, pedagogy, assessment practices, and educational technology.
n Familiarity with LMS, Google Workspace, digital learning platforms, simulations, virtual laboratories, and AI-enabled learning/content tools.
n Ability to manage multiple projects, meet timelines, collaborate effectively, and work independently.
n Willingness to travel extensively across CMR K–12 and Ekya campuses.
