Area(s) of Responsibility Network Consultant

As a Senior Network Consultant, the high-level responsibilities will be around supporting and optimizing enterprise network environments while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

- Possess 10 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
- Demonstrated expertise in routing, switching, wireless controllers, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Ability to provide incident support, including troubleshooting and resolving critical network issues.
- Experience in developing network recommendations as per best practices and implementing improvements aligned with customer security standards and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the current network architecture and drive continuous optimization and modernization initiatives.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):

- CCNA / CCNP

Below are some examples of the types of activities and responsibilities this individual would handle daily:




- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to the networking components of the J.D. Irving Limited infrastructure.
- Act as a point of contact and coordinate with vendors and external technical resources to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Serve as the networking subject matter expert on a wide range of internal and customerfacing technology projects, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Optimize existing systems for performance and capacity, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all networking solutions.
- Lead and oversee daytoday networking activities and contribute to longterm operational planning.
- Work with tools and technologies such as Cisco Prime, Cisco Identity Services Engine, Cisco Catalyst, Junos Space, OpManager, CheckPoint, and A10/Netscaler loadbalancing platforms.
