Role Description The Technical Co-Founder will lead the end-to-end technology vision and execution for Wumn, working closely with the founding team to build and scale the custom fashion marketplace. This on-site role, based in Mumbai, involves architecting and developing the core platform, setting up robust infrastructure, and implementing features that enable designer discovery, portfolio management, custom orders, and secure transactions. Day-to-day activities include hands-on coding, selecting and integrating third-party tools, defining technical standards, and ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
The Technical
Co-Founder will also recruit and mentor a small engineering team over time, collaborate on product roadmaps, and contribute to strategic decisions related to technology, data, and security.
This is a full time, founder-level position with significant responsibility for shaping the product and the company’s technical direction.
Qualifications
- Strong full-stack engineering skills, including experience with modern web frameworks, APIs, and databases suitable for marketplace or e-commerce platforms.
- Proven ability to design system architecture, set up cloud infrastructure, and ensure performance, security, and scalability for consumer-facing products.
- Experience translating product requirements into technical roadmaps, prioritizing features, and delivering high-quality releases in an early-stage startup environment.
- Comfort with UX/UI collaboration and building intuitive user flows that connect customers with designers and support customization workflows.
- Previous experience in marketplaces, fashion-tech, or e-commerce is highly beneficial, along with familiarity with payment integration and data analytics.
- Demonstrated ownership mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and willingness to work on-site in Mumbai as part of a small, founding team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
