The Global Voice is a current geopolitics newsroom based in Goa. We cover the stories shaping the world with an Indian perspective and a global audience in mind.

We’re looking for a Content Writer Intern who is curious about the world and wants to learn how a newsroom actually works.

Location: Goa
Duration: 1 month (can be extended based on performance)
Stipend: ₹10,000/month
This is an in-office role. We’re building the newsroom together, so remote or hybrid arrangements aren’t available for this position.

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend months rewriting press releases or filling content calendars. You’ll research real stories, write pieces that are good to be published, work on short-form news content and story cards, and gradually take on more substantial writing as you find your feet.

What you will do:
Research and write news stories, explainers and short-form content.
Follow developments in geopolitics and identify stories worth covering.
Turn complex events into clear, accessible writing.




Research beyond the first page of Google and get comfortable working with primary sources, reports and international media.
Write for readers who may know very little about India or the region you're covering.
Work closely with editors, take feedback and improve your writing with every draft.

What we're looking for
You don’t need to know everything about geopolitics. You do need to be genuinely curious about it.

You should:
Have strong written English and a clear, direct writing style.
Enjoy reading the news and going down research rabbit holes.
Be able to distinguish between a headline and the story behind it.
Know how to explain something complicated without making it sound complicated.
Be comfortable having your work edited and rewritten.
Have the initiative to say, “There’s a story here, should we look at it?”

A note on AI: We want to see your thinking and your writing. The application assignment must be completed without AI-generated writing.
