Job Summary

n

We are looking for a seasoned GIS Technical Lead with strong experience in GIS development and Technical Project Management. The candidate must have a hands-on GIS project development background combined with proven ability to lead delivery, validate technical work, and drive end-to-end project execution.

n

This role requires a technically grounded skilled who can bridge the project management layer with the engineering team.

n

Candidate will own project plans, tracking execution through Jira, supporting cloud migration delivery through Azure DevOps, validating technical deliverables, and managing stakeholders across geographies.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead end-to-end delivery of GIS and Telecom projects from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, quality, and delivery commitments.
n
- Prepare, maintain, and track detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and delivery trackers, ensure proactive monitoring and timely course correction throughout the project lifecycle.
n
- Lead, track, and validate the team's technical work and deliverables to ensure alignment with the project plan and quality standards.
n
- Drive day-to-day project management, execution, and delivery tracking through Jira i.e. manage Epics, Features, User Stories, Tasks, Bugs, backlogs, sprint plans, boards, and release trackers.
n
- Build and maintain Jira dashboards, queries, and reports to provide real-time delivery visibility to leadership and customer stakeholders.
n
- Drive sprint ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)



and ensure Jira is kept current and accurate as the single source of truth for delivery status.
n
- Leverage Azure DevOps (ADO) for cloud migration and application modernization workstreams including repo, pipeline, and release coordination with the engineering team where applicable.
n
- Coordinate closely with developers, technical leads, and solution architects to review technical work products, validate solution approaches, and provide structured inputs on GIS architecture, integration, and implementation.
n
- Leverage hands-on GIS development experience to engage in technical discussions, review code/design where required, and guide the team on implementation decisions.
n
- Monitor project risks, dependencies, issues, and change requests thus proactively drive mitigation, resolution, and escalation.
n
- Conduct project governance forums, steering reviews, and status meetings including agendas, MoMs, and follow-up actions.
n
- Prepare executive-level presentations, project status reports, governance updates, and stakeholder decks using advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
n
- Drive structured stakeholder communication across business users, delivery teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure transparency and timely escalation.
n
- Ensure adherence to delivery processes, SDLC, quality standards, documentation requirements, and customer compliance expectations.
n
- Coordinate effectively in multicultural and global delivery environments, including onsite engagements with customers across geographies.

Required Qualifications

n

n
- 10–14 years of overall experience in the IT / Telecom industry.
n
- Min 5 years of hands-on GIS development experience covering Telecom GIS, geospatial solutions, utility mapping, network spatial systems,



or related.
n
- 5+ years of subsequent experience in Technical Project Management / Delivery Management roles, leading medium to large-scale GIS or Telecom initiatives.
n
- Proven hands-on experience in Jira, managing work items, backlogs, sprints, boards, dashboards, and reports independently as a delivery owner.
n
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps (ADO) in the context of cloud migration, application modernization, and CI/CD-based delivery models.
n
- Strong experience in project plan preparation, milestone tracking, dependency management, and delivery monitoring across the full project lifecycle.
n
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery practices and sprint-based governance.
n
- Strong understanding of GIS domain and exposure to Telecom BSS, OSS, and network spatial systems.
n
- Hands-on technical background in software development, application design, integration, or related technical roles relevant to GIS environments.
n
- Strong understanding of SDLC, implementation methodologies, project governance, risk management, and delivery management practices.
n
- Strong documentation, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Ability to build trackers, dashboards, status reports, and executive-quality presentations.
n
- Proven ability to manage customer-facing projects, cross-functional teams, and multiple stakeholders across business and technology functions.
n
- Experience working across multiple accounts and geographies, with direct onsite customer-facing exposure.
n
- Ability to work smoothly in multicultural environments, understanding different work cultures, communication styles, and stakeholder expectations.
n
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, flexibility, and adaptability.

Preferred Qualifications

- B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or related discipline.
n
- Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent.
n
- Exposure to cloud migration, enterprise application modernization, or managed services delivery models.
